Among traditional and Simplified Han characters, which do you prefer using? I am not Chinese but I like to learn Mandarin and as for Chinese characters, I like the traditional because it retained the age old meanings within each stroke. As for the simplified, the complex characters lost its essence.

I prefer simplified, simply because it's the version I learned at school so it's a lot easier for me to read. It's also the version I know how to write. I can read traditional writing but I can't write it.

Thanks for the response. Anyway, as the name suggests, it simplifies things. As for decorative purpose, will you still prefer the simplified?

Nah. For decorative purposes, old writing is prettier.

Both has its pro and cons though. But simplified chinese is indeed easier and more common nowadays.
