Have you ever noticed that...

Have you ever noticed that when you're trying to impress a date (or someone you're crushing on big time) that some of the things that you try NOT to have happen always will happen at the worst possible moment? I mean like you HAVE to fart and so you walk thirty feet away from the car and figure that the smell won't follow you because there is a good breeze; so you finish the fart, get in the car and your date says "Wow, what is that smell??? It is absolutely HORRIBLE!!!" Or you are very careful about what you eat (no carbonated drinks for me please), and you open your mouth to say something and a belch comes out of your mouth that would awe a long haul trucker (no offense to long haul truckers...I know a lot of truckers and have a lot of admiration for them)? Or (another one that happened to me in high school...there was this student teacher that was soooo cute and I had the biggest crush on him...) you sneeze and end up with a hand full of snot and no kleenex?

LOL I love your examples. Very funny. But yes I know what you mean. I was in high school and had a huge crush on this guy in my choir class. Well, we were walking across the gravel parking lot and I tripped and fell face first in the gravel. I was so embarrassed I didn't know what to do. Lucky he was nice about it and helped me up. Now that I am older I can look back and laugh about it.

That reminds me of another crush I had on a guy while I was in middle school. It was my last year of middle school and the guy was a junior in high school. He was sooooo good looking. I was going up the stairs to the middle school as he was headed down the stairs to the high school. I saw him and promptly tripped!!! I really scraped my knees up and the guy stopped and asked if I was okay and helped me up. There I stood with my knees bleeding, my stockings torn to shreds and embarrassed enough to want to drop through the cement... so much for good impressions. Of course it was that day that I realized that I would never be graceful enough to take ballet!

Hi there Loverbear! Those situations that you mentioned are really funny. I don't think that happens to me all the time or maybe I just don't remember now but when I get really nervous, things that I wanted to say, that were carefully planned in my mind just get lost.
