Hi,
I note that one of my discussion received nearly 3 or 4 responses with in 1 hour immediately after posting the discussion.
But when that discussion have 10 responses it have the tag as mature content.
After that it didn't receive any responses.
So, you don't want to attend discussions with the tags???
Have a great day.

Hi dbutheking, I've accepted your friends request and your discussions are now comign to my email! Though for some reason to spam! Some of them have done that, not just yours, but even mine own! In any case, I think that sometimes there are a group of people to respond and then you have to wait for others. While it may have something to do with the mature content tag, I think that there are more people here who disregard the tags and just respond. Wait and you'll see! Maybe not soon but you'll get another response, and if not comment back, get the conversation going!

Hi somecowgirl,
I see that tag when i see that discussion when it has only 10 responses when it reach the 12th response that tag is disappeared but again that tag appears in this. That discussion was about the offensive words in the T-shirt. I can see only 2 or 3 mature content response in it and received really nice comments there.
Have a great day. Thanks for accepting my FR and setting my notify on..

I have seen that sometimes a discussions tags will alternate. A person can submit tags but the most that will be shown is five, and if the tag seems to be appropriate I think the mylot system kicks it in for awhile. Not sure if this is true or not but my guess!

So, if the discussion has more number of similar tags, it will shown in the tabs pages right?

I don’t take any notice of tags usually and I reply to the notifications as they are emailed to me. I have noticed that the ‘mature content’ tag is not always appropriately attached to certain discussions so it can be a bit confusing.

I response to any kind of topics without even noticing the tags. The tags only come to view when I have submitted my response. It is better to have a slow coming responses as it might set off the alarm for the admin to delete the discussion. I have experienced that on two occasions when my discussions draw in responses at lightning speed. It was not matured contents and neither sensitive issues but what surprises me was that admin deleted the discussions as fast as it appeared on screen. My friends who received the notifications of that doomed discussions did not feel that the post contravene any of mylot rules. I suspect it must be the speed that kills. As in less than 5 minutes it has drawn in 10 responses before going under the chopping board of mylot.

I am only guessing as I don't see any good reason why it was deleted. The tag was under relationship and titled 'Man are not necessary in woman's life'(something like that) and the other one was tagged under mylot but can't really remember the title. I have no record of the discussions as I don't normally draft what I want to post.

So, receiving more number of responses fastly then admins will delete our posts??
For what reason? Do you have any idea?
If the discussion receive 10 responses in 5 minutes definitely it will be a good discussion, then why they delete it?
May i know in what interest you posted that discussion and may i have that title?
Have a great day.

Hey there! Fantastic avatar!
The tags do not make any difference to whether I respond to a certain discussion or not. Sometimes the mature content tag is completely misleading and should not really be there at all. Like when you go to the cooking interest and read about a user who made something with chicken breas*ts - that would get the mature content tag!
It's the topic of the discussion that makes me decide whether to respond or not and the tags don't have any say in the matter at all.

Joining your new group was on my list of priorities as soon as I started to become lively again after my sleep. I am just beginning to wake up and get my fingers back on the keyboard
So much to do and so little time to do it - but I'll get there with a little help from my friends la la la!

Tags don't bother me at all. Mature or not a mature content, if it's within my list of interest, i will respond to it. Sometimes, the more mature the content is, the more information we can get.

I don't always look at the tags of discussions. I just look at the subject line and if it grabs my attention, then I look at it. It doesn't bother me if a discussion is mature content because I am an old lady so it's okay.

Well, it depends what the discussion is about. If the person posting the discussions is in need of genuine help, then yes, I will respond to it because I have had experience as a therapist helping others with personal problems.
But some discussion that are not serious and therefore not really mature, then I won't respond to.

I don't even read the tags to be perfectly honest. Sometimes discussions get shuffled and if they are not on the top pages they don't get seen right off. I don't think you should worry about it. Sooner or later someone will see and respond and bring it back up again. I've discussions that I have thought were over for a year or more get brought back up again.

Just like this one, this is tagged with mature content. That means, I still respond to discussions with such tag. What wonders me is who or why do they put mature content tag to our discussions even if this do not contain mature contents? Do you know why or how. I have some posts but I never put that keywords as tagged?

The discussion starter can give the appropriate tags to the discussions. Those tags will appear in the page of the discussion. Others also give their own tags. They will show up in the appropriate tabs before we open the discussion.
If we don't give 5 tags, the tags can be filled by the responders. If they give the tag as mature content or if their response is having mature content our discussion have the mature content tag.
Also, if many of them response having mature content it will generate the mature content tag. No need to put by the user, it is generated automatically. In this discussion as it is related to the discussion we put the mature content as the tags..
Have a great day.

Hi there dbutheking
I would if I found it to be an interesting discussion and not a smutty one. If it is intentially crude then it won't interest me at all. I once added to a discussion about cooking and I had mentioned chicken br***t and the whole discussion got tagged with adult content and I didn't even realise until another mylotter told me. It just didn't occur to me at all. hahaha

I guess you set your preferences to allow mature content. Am i correct. Mostly i see mature content as responses. So, while commenting i can view even without the preferences. I change it while i receive mature content comments. Just like you said, they are not at all mature content... Some of the word is automatically detected and got the mature content..
Have a great day.

I don't think tag is much relevant if I have something to share. If the original post itself has generate that tag, then maybe I will think.... why that tag? And read carefully. And if some response did so, well no problem!

I find it incomprehensible that people actually read the tags before commenting, but of course I shouldn't, I've been here long enough to know that some people are actually offended by mature content. That I also find incomprehensible, but I guess I have to accept it happens despite my incomprehension. Gosh, does that mean I have finally reached the stage of maturity where I no longer think the world revolves around me? Heaven forbid! lol.
For me tags are simply there for search engine reasons.

Hello Db. I will, depending on the actual question. Some things are fine; others are, I feel, too personal or distasteful, and to those, I will not respond. That, of course, is just my personal preferences.

Hi karen,
Yes, some of the dicussions are fine and others are too personal.
So, you don't actually respond the discussions having personal.
Personal means mature content personal
or you don't prefer to attend discussions regarding the personal things even if it don't have mature content?
Have a great day..

i don't think that tags are a consideration. the number of responses you get may be related to many reasons and perhaps maybe you cannot out rightly rule out tags also. one reason can be as in my case - i have not opted to view mature content. so whenever there is such a post, instead i get the message that i have not opted to view mature content and that if i wish to view i should change my preferences (which i don't). in such cases since i am not able to view all the posts i am not able to relate to the discussion and therefore do not contribute to it. as i said there can be many reasons.

So, you are not attending the discussions having the mature content tag most of the time right?
Yes, i also didn't turn on the preferences. I only turn on once to view the mature content comment on my response once..
