Hello Martin, hehehe,i am not a muslim my friend.I just like to wear and took pictures with muslim looks and even indian looks...i love photography and love to do some experiment too. Fasting is good...for our health,i have done it for a month...with step by step process. On the first 3 days was really hard,i felt so weak with no solid food intake..just water and vitamins for 3 days, and on the 4th day till 10th day just having portion of fruits and lots of water. On the 11th day till 30th...a mix vegetable and fruit intake but still in portion...that goes for a month...this is to reduce the high level of my acidity. It does work and really help me cleanse from toxins. Thanks again amigo and...not having food becoz you of cost cutting(kuripot...hehehe)it's not fasting hahaha have a good Monday to start mylotting

Hi Jaiho, I never tried fasting for any purpose. I may skip meals for not getting time otherwise I can’t do a fast. If I skip meals it may affect me badly, feeling much tiredness etc. But I think if we try to do fast religiously/purposely may be our body will ready to accept and act accordingly. That may be the reason for those who are doing fast can do it successfully. What about you?

hi friend, i use to fast once in a week every week but after my marriage i stopped because my mother in law said that i should continue and i didnt argued on the topic. i use to fast on mondays and now if i fast that is on one day and that fast is kept for my husband's good health, long age, love and everything. for that i dont even drink water and from four in the morning till we see moon in the night which comes late that day. almost at around nine or eight fifty we see. we say our prayers and then we eat something. our fast is broken by our hubby on that day after giving prayers he offers us water, he make us drink and then some sweet dish and then we sit together and eat.

It's now the fasting month for those that embrace the Islam religion, and since I lived in a country which has Muslims, I understand that it's now a month of compulsory fasting for them. As for me, I will be able to experience fasting during my school days while I have the majority students were fasting, and therefore, in order for me to respect them, I also follow suit on their fasting procedures.. As I am living in the hostel, I will also follow suit on their breaking fast time too.. After the school days, I joined a company that also has the majority Muslim, and with every fasting month, the suppliers will also invite all of us to break fast together, therefore I also fast during my working period there. Basically, I fast to show my respect as a citizen that lived in a multi-racial & multi religions country, just wanted to have some peace so that everyone is able to live happily in the country.

Hello cwong, That's good my friend.I can see your good heart, paying respect to other beliefs.I am not a muslim, and i do respect their faiths too. But i also do some fasting, our religion also teaches us to have some fast when we offer prayers with request, when we ask the Lord some requests,we do some fasting as a self sacrifice offering. And with our health,it is also very good to cleanse our system. Thanks for your responce dear

I've done it for both reasons - health and religion. I fasted for three days one time, I think it was, but mostly I just fast for 24 hours. After the first day, it's easier, actually, but I can't go that long because of some health problems.

Hello peavey, 24 hours of fasting is good enough to release some toxins in our body.Yah,the first 24 hours is easy but the next hours would be very hard when we are not used to do some fasting. And we can't work heavy works too coz we feel weak. Thanks for your responce dear..happy mylotting

I've done it for a day a couple times before. I don't do it for religious reasons, but I find it can be helpful when my body is a bit off. Lets my system clear itself out. I still drink juices and fluids when I do this, however.

Hello danrun, Good to know you were doing this for health benefits.Yes,water/fluid intake should be taken when doing fast...or else you could be dehydrated. Water intake for 3 days or a week and no other solid foods is very good to clear our system naturally(detoxify). Thanks for your responce friend and happy mylotting

I've tried it before but I certainly wouldn't suggest it, unless you're doing it for religious or spiritual purposes of course - and you should always talk to your doctor before hand, only plan on doing it for 3-4 days AT the most, and you should make sure to take your vitamins and possibly drink juice or some kind of substantial, nutrient-rich liquid during your "fast". I would not suggest this for weight loss purposes, if that's the reason you are asking. If you're looking to lose weight - work out & eat better and it should naturally come off. Fasting slows down your metabolism big time (your body goes into "starvation mode" and holds onto fat), and you usually only lose water weight - which you will gain back when you eat solid foods. I wouldn't suggest doing this. Sometimes people have to fast for medical reasons (before getting surgery or before getting bloodwork done), but it's never usually for more than one day.

Hello maezee, Fasting is very good for weight loss but of course must consult doctor first.I done fast for a month due to my high acidity. It's a step by step process, with lots of supplementary juices and herbal medicine intake too. It did work for me...my acidity level goes down, and still im doing fasting once a month for 24hours only,to release some toxins in our body. Thanks for your responce and happy mylotting

we do such things in so many reasons we could not imagine we may ever did. fasting are done because we wanted to or there this reasons why we must do it. some do it religiously and others just did it because it is the best way there is to do about it. i have done fasting when there is this certain event in our faith that we really need to do so. i have done 3 days of it and i like the feeling. i am well nourish with water and with my faith and when it is done. i fel the contentment and a whole new me. its a diffrent kind of feeling but i do love it. that happens every once in a year and i am more faithfully into our ALmighty as it is. i have done dieting but not fasting when my doctor told me so. because of my health getting bad and hopefully not for the worst. because i am getting weight and i need to keep track of it as not to do more harm in my body. jhelai

Hello jhe, I could see you are not a muslim but religiously done some fasting too. I am not a muslim too,but with prayers/wishes(a fervent request with prayers) i also do fasting as a sacrifice hoping my prayers to be granted..not only hoping but believing that GOD will hear my cries when praying and do some sacrifice like fasting. With health...it is very beneficial too to reduce some toxins in our system. Thanks for your responce dear and happy mylotting

I couldn't fast if my life depended on it...LOL! :-D I LOVE FOOD!!! My stomach is SO hungry if I don't eat at least once a day! The only time I "fast" is when I'm sick and throwing up...then you can keep the food! Thankfully, that's not very often. ;-)

I tried fasting unintentionally when I delay eating when I am busy finishing a project and when I do not like to eat. I think every Holy week I practice abstinence not really fasting but avoid things to do which are forbidden, like being angry all the times, watching marathon all days and night, and eat excessively. I think I could survive without food but with water is alright. I do not do fasting as it is done by Muslim as they are celebrating Ramadam for almost one month, even saliva is forbidden to swallow. Exempted from fasting are women menstruating, children and old people.

Hello neel, Precisely, don't eat when you are angry/stressed or too much pressured, becoz our body release toxin when we are angry or having emotional distress. But fasting is really good for our health too,as it cleanses our immune system. I respect Muslim for doing/following their beliefs with Ramadan. Thanks for your responce dear and have a great Sunday

I think there's alot of individual reasons for fasting. Although mostly people doing fasting for religious reason, but i don't think if every fasting can be related with religious matter. Some people must fasting on certain foods. Let say diabetes patients, they must fasting from sugar. Over weight person must fasting from fats. But mostly fasting is religious matter. Actually fasting is good for our health since we can reduce many useless fats in our body without adding new bad fats in certain period. Also, we can control our sugar level and blood pressure by fasting. Good luck and have a nice day. Happy mylotting.

Hello dian, Each individual doing fasting has each reasons, maybe religious matter or health. With religious matter,it is maybe due to their beliefs/faith and even can be done when someone is praying intently from heart/mind and soul...it is more appropriate to pray while fasting.Or when someone asks prayers with request/wishes...some do it with a little sacrifice and do fasting.(i have it done when i ask a wish with prayers). For health reason, fasting could be very beneficial too and best remedy for other health problems and weight reduced also. Thanks for your responce dear...happy mylotting

i'm not in that religion so i don't try it. but my friend is doing it now she tells me that she eats a little in the mornings nothing in the middle of the day and something at night. i don't know how she does it i would cheat i don't see the point in doing that. no wonder shes so skinny she can not eat for days its crazy if i don't eat for 6 hours my belly makes the loudest noisy. and for this week every person who doing this has been in the library playing on the computers so i have no where to type my papers. 8( so no i will not do it in future i like food.
