Do you give out a best response to discussions with only one response?

Just wondering if you bother giving out a best response to a discussion with only one response.

Hi realan, Best response is for response that give you the answer for your problem or some idea or some information for your discussion. So, no matter if your discussion receive one response or hundreds responses, you can give it to those who qualify for it. Or you might not give it at all if there is no one can satisfy you. I would give my best response if the only discussion I receive satisfy me. But usually I give sometime before give it out. Give the others chance to respond to it first.

This might help and you can try this. If you didn't give you comment on that response, give a comment on it. But if you already comment it, just give some more comment. Because every time you post something on the discussion, it would go top on your friends "friends started" tab and "my interest" tab (if you choose any interest while you posted it). This would give your discussion more exposure especially to your friends and they might respond to it if they have something to say. The other method you can use it by PM your friends and ask them to respond to it. Not because you want to give them the BR but to revive your discussion.

Definitely. I forgot to add in my post...after several weeks have passed and there were no other responses. Since they did answer and help out with the question, maybe they should be the best response since there is nothing to compare to. I'm trying to resolve all my discussions before I forget them. I agree with you. Thanks for your post!

Yeah, my thoughts too. Usually what I do is to wait that someone comes up with a better response. That might or not happen though. And when it doesn't I usually forget about those discussions as they sink through internet's history ;)

I was resolving my discussions and I came across a couple with only one response from several weeks ago. So I was trying to decide if it was the only response, would it then be the best response, since there were no other ones to compare it to. Yes apparently I have nothing better to do! I was trying to resolve them before I forgot about them. Thanks for your comment!

How about giving a best response to this conversation? Mine seems satisfying enough, no? ;)

Two years ago my answer would have been yes. I didn't like to feel rejected so went ahead and resolved my posts with whatever. But now my ego melted, I can wait for eternity before giving BR to the only response(s) if I don't feel them worth. Of course other way round is if they start complaining. I'm a Santa!

As long as the response was on topic and legitimately went with the discussion I will give best response even if it is the only response. I always wait at least one week before giving out best response on my discussions and will sometimes wait a little longer if there is only one response.

I wait until there have been at least five responses before giving out a "best response" but if there is a really good first post then I will often take note and come back later to have a look at any new ones.

I would only if the response was a good one.
