If we sit back and let someone else and think it is not that importamt for you to get involved personally---think again. The future of all soaps in general are in question now and the writing seems to be getting more sloppy and less enthusiastic every where in daytime. Get involved--see what you can do, to help save our soaps! Members of several General Hospital fan bases, Sonny and Kate, Jason and Elizabeth, Patrick and Robin, Jax and Carly, have joined forces to organize the SOS/Save Our Soap! General Hospital Campaign. This campaign, which kicked off across North America in June, is a joint effort by those fans to make an appeal to ABC/Disney to help save what was once their favorite soap opera and return it to the Flagship Soap Opera it once was. While this campaign has been organized by these four fan bases, its about more than just couples and pairings. Its about correcting the problems with General Hospital as a whole. Ten Remedies for Saving General Hospital have been idenitified and will be focused on: o Character-driven Storylines o Character Growth & Development o Historical Continuity o Respect for Veteran Characters o Emotional Balance for Characters & Storylines o Increased Focus on Families o Enduring Couples o Less Sleaze o More Romance & Humor o Overall Enjoyable Escape Whether you're a fan of these specific couples or not, if you want to help GH return to it's former status, join us to Save Our Soap!

I have watched General Hospital quite a bit lately, in pieces and small snippets over the months. Unfortunately, I think the show is starting to fall into a very scary, repetitive pattern of plotlines for some reason, and some of the characters are getting more attention than others. You are right, General Hospital needs a little bit of help to get it out of this strange rut. I remember the time when the hospital caught on fire (I think it was the hospital), and the whole cast was trapped inside. All of the character's stories were intertwined with that huge plot, and that month or so ordeal was life like and even meaningful for me. I love Sonny, Carly, and the rest of the cast as well. These are meaningful, emotional, strong characters who eventually learn from each-other's ordeals and evolve in a more serious way than that of other less wonderful soaps! I'm cheering for your efforts, and I wish you all the best in saving what could very well be one of the most important chapters for Soap Operas everywhere. I understand your passion for these shows, and that passion means something to me. You are probably not alone in your fears about General Hospital. I would just hate to see something so powerful, realistic, and vibrant get crushed only because of what has been sated as stale, sloppy writing. Viewers deserve a soap that they can watch without worrying if it is going to be on air the next time the TV is turned on. If this is important to so many, speak out. Someone has to listen eventually, especially if the writers of the show start to figure that they are going to lose a valuable, influential fan-base! Good luck!
