Study abroad:talk about your plan

I am a master student in China. I am go to study abroad to Japan for doctor's degree,but now i don't know what i need to prepare and feel so perplexed. Presently i am only to learn some language such as english and japanese that let me communicate expediently.
if you want to study abroad, talk about your plan.

DO remember :DOn't take too much things.
make much more friends as you can.
have a good time in japanese.
