Massive wildfire in California...

I really wonder why this massive wildfire in California can not be stop quickly. Many people's property and lives are in serious danger. The solution for "out of control" wildfires has existed for years. Water...huge amounts of water...dropped bomber style from a massive plane that can load from natural sources and "bomb" massive areas all day and night. Strange, isn't it? We have the resources to drop billions of dollars worth of munitions on the Middle East, but we can't scoop up free water to keep our homes from burning.What's wrong with this picture?

Dropping water from top may not help for by the time it reaches the fire down it would be in fine droplets and that would only aid Water Gas formation and increase the heat content and hence temparature will further rise. I have heard that it is already pretty high compared earlier instances. Creating low flying airborne, dry ice = solidified Carbon dioxide might help. I am also surprised why so little is done to stop these fires.

They suggest it will be contained around Sept 15th or so. I don't know how they get so out of control, but California tends to get a lot of wild fires, often started by arsenists. And mostly set during dry heat, or the Santa Ana winds. The person starting it knows it will spread faster, and that the chances of fast containment are slim. I wish it would rain and just put it out overnight. And, yes, it makes us wonder why we can't budget in a quicker fire team but we have billions for the oil war.

Is it always arsonists? Or Is it also possible that they start off by natural means like winy day and friction between two perfectly dry trees rubbibg against each other, or for that matter lightnings strikes setting fire to some trees and the wind aiding to make it a wildfire. For such fires are heard of in Indonesia too. We need examine if like Indonesia Calif is on frequent lightning zone too. Whatever may be the cause, it is necessary that Fire Fighting machinery and strategy be put in place, by the government.
