Michael, John, Gary or David?

Here in the wonderful land of the queen, it seems 90% of the population are named Michael, John, Gary or David. When I went out to the pub last night all the guys that chatted me up or I was introduced to were either Michael, John, Gary or David. At my office we have four Michaels, six Johns, eight Garys and three Davids. My former peeping tom neighbor is Michael, the guy at my local supermarket is Gary and the two teenage boys who have big crushes on me are John and David. Some of the guys that have had the privilege of seeing my boobies (for real) are Michael, John, Gary, David. So what are the most common names in your country?

Hi jellymonty this is a really good discussion for me as here in Greece most people do have the same name as each male is named after his grandfather, so if said grandfather had five sons each of those sons must name their son after the same grandfather so we often end up with five cousins with the exact same name. Anyway to answer your question as to which are these common names: There's Panioytis which is sometimes shortened to Panos or Takis. Tasos Gregoris Stavros Yiorgos Vangelis Fotis Nikos Kostas Sortiris Demetrious Yannis. Andonis I remember addressing one man I know as Vangelis for over a year until he finally asked me one day why I didn't call him by his real name of Panioytis. But generally if one isn't sure of someones name it's probably safest to go with Yiorgos.
