What are your thoughts on terrorism and the "Liquid Bomb Plot"?

Watching the news today, i was disgusted, horrified and relieved to hear of teh Liquid Bomb Plot which was, thankfully, foiled today at Heathrow Airport.
3 English suicide bombers planned to blow up several transatlantic flights heading towards North America, the estimated death rate would ahve exceded the September 11 Twin tower bombings.
Thankfully, MI5 has been watching these terrorists for months, gaining information to stop this and future terrorist plots, but i still worry about those which may not be detected in time.

I also watched the news last night and i felt very sad too.
I don't understand the three young men and their believe or their religion. why?
they made the Liguid Bomb to hurt people but also will kill themselves, why do they want to do like that?
I don't worry too much the Liquid Bomb on planes now. Since police found their plot it's already banned to take any liquid on plane. It's already international rules.
However who knows what will happen with other transportation tools and public spaces.
Now i kind of understand why British army fight over seas. Terrorist focus on western people. I wish some body can find a good way to resolve the deep hate and conflict between them.
