No I do not mean Tetsuwan Atom (Astro Boy), I mean what anime was it that made you like anime enough to start watching anything you can find. For me it was Death Note. It was just so well-made that it made me wonder if every anime was like that and well, I watched other anime like Ghost Hunt and Bleach and then more stuff and blah blah its all downhill from there. So, what about you?

I'm not really an anime fan actually, but the one I do remember watching when I was young, probably the first real anime to be shown here in the U.S. was "Battle of the planets", this was about 30 years ago or more.

I don't remember a lot of details, long time ago. it was a sci-fi based show though. I don't think it's been on the air for a few decades now though.

I remember Dragonball Z when I was really young, a bit of Sailor Moon (although I never really got into that one) but the one that changed it all for me was a show called Heat Guy J. It used to be on a sci-fi channel but then they took it off air and I have yet to find it again. Thankfully it's coming out on DVD soon =]

The first time ? Hmm, the one that I remember was Doraemon, very old anime. And now, I like watch most of anime. The one I like now are Naruto, Air Gear, Digimon, Gundam as the best anime for me, Full Metal Alchemist (completed), Gurren Lagann (completed), Kiba (completed), Samurai 7 (completed), Basillisk (completed), Hikaru no Go (because of this anime, so I love playing Go). And there are more animes which can't I tell you all of them.

Well...I remember watching Sailor Moon and Dragonball Z on TV back in the days but those shows didn't really drive me to go out and hunt for other anime to watch. I just thought that the shows were really cool and I couldn't wait for it to air on TV. It wasn't until I saw Ranma 1/2 for the first time that I was hooked. After that I saw other series like Rurouni Kenshin, movies like Princess Mononoke and Ninja Scroll and I was just captivated by the diversity in anime. You usually don't see things like that in Disney animations.

The first anime I watched that piqued my interest was Bleach. I loved it, but I wasn't yet hooked on anime. Then, like many of you, I watched Deathnote and was HOOKED. I have watched several anime since then but have yet to find something as psychologically thrilling as Deathnote.

Hi X, I think the anime that really got me interested in the genre was Full Metal Alchemist. I had watched animes in the past (Dragonball Z being the main one) but I never knew what anime was at the time and so I can't claim that they started my interest. FMA though did because I discovered it through an anime site, and through that and other member recommendations I explored more animes and became completely hooked. FMA also showed me just how an anime should be done because it actually ended! DBZ never managed that and I grew bored of it, but with FMA I just couldn't stop watching so it gave me hope for the future lol! All the best, Dranz
