this concerns my brother. he's coming home from work overseas and has only a month of vacation which includes him fixing the necessary papers to be able to go work overseas again. however, he and his girlfriend are getting married and as early or late as of now, september 7, they haven't started with anything yet excpet with the planning (i'm sure) and the fact that my son is the ringbearer. i got married in a civil ceremony and i forgot how long it took for me and my husband to get the necessary papaers and wedding seminars okay. do you think a month is too short for a church wedding?

My fiance and I will be married soon. I am not sure how long it takes for the documents to go through, but you get a wedding certificate to frame when you get the marriage license, atleast in my state and county you do... not so sure about the state atleast I know the county does. As for the paperwork? He may need to have his fiance start ont hat if he isn't in yet... The marriage License he'll have to be there for... Other paperwork for say a church? I don't think so... least we didn't. They just had us fill out a few things, and we were good to go. We took it home so it didn't matter. I don't remember having to sign it, but we may have. Have her (the fiance) talk to the pastor...

I didn't realize you were not from the USA. Though Seminar did throw me off, your English is so good it didn't cross my mind. I am glad that the papers are all settled. I appreciate the congrats.
What does this seminar entail? Is it anything like pre marital counseling?
It's sad that many of the weddings in your country are filled with people the bride and groom do not know.

best wishes to you and congratulations to your fiance
. i think my borhter's papers are all settled now... at least that's what my brother told me since the dates for the 2 seminars are already okay. i'm worried about the finances, though. marriage in the philippines is always the same. at least when it is a catholic wedding. you spend your life's earnings feeding people you may not have come across even once in your life

Depending on the significance of the occasion, it really needs a lot of planning if they really want it to be well made and be done quite properly, with contingencies.
Aside from a very good planner, all necessary resources should be at their finger tips if they really want everything to be ready.
A special event like that should take a good amount of time to prepare.

One month is an extremely short time for a wedding, especially a church wedding. As far as I know, most churches require you to have some kind of marriage counseling before the wedding, and that can take some time. Then, the wedding dress, tuxedo, flowers, decorations, wedding favors, etc. all take time to pick out and get ready. Even if they are not planning a big, fancy wedding, I don't think that a month is enough time, especially since it sounds like there are other things he will be needing to do during that time as well. I know that the bride generally does most of the planning, but usually the groom is there to help with the major decisions, as it is his wedding, too.
Congratulations to the happy couple, and I hope they can pull it off and have a beautiful wedding.

thank you for the wishes and greetings and thanks for the response. at least the groom is ours. makes me breathe easier as you reminded me that, true, little details are mostly seen
and taken cared of by the bride's family.
