Is this a good sign?

Alok started asking his family for permission to marry me in June. I finally wrote his family a letter telling them all about my family, my life, etc... It included pictures and a video of me talking.
His father wrote me back thanking me for writing them and he also asked for my mother's contact info because he wanted to discuss things with her further.
Is this a good thing or a bad thing? I am so nervous. I feel like we may have finally gotten somewhere I just do not know where.

Hmm it seems to be going the right way, i can understand you are feeling nervous, don't worry Alok's father is just being sure of things, so he is going to further enquire your mother about you that's all, well i know you might be feeling nervous and don't know what to expect kinda... but everything will be nice don't worry.

Hi,
It's nice of your "fiance" to talk to his family about your marriage. (Personally, I don't think it is necessary but it would be nice if they agreed. I understand it's tradition for some countries so that, I can respect.)
I think that if his father wrote back to ask for your mother's contact info, it's a good sign because he is concerned over his son and would like to discuss matters further. He has taken you seriously.
Don't worry so much because there is no "bad air" so far. Just try and remain optimistic and keep the pleasantries there so that both your families will be comfortable with eachother.
Congratulations and best wishes.

Ofcourse it is a good thing that Alok's father want to discuss with ur mom. If he is not interested or something, he should have bluntly told you not to write to him any more.
I have one question.....Alok was asking permission...just in case...God forbid....if his family say NO, then he is not going to marry you? He should be
man enough to stand up for himself...afterall, its his and your life.
Nothing to worry gorgeous...things will work out for you.

I think this is a good start. It would be better if both parents can meet face to face and deeper.
Congratulations Bluehibiscus!
