How many of you out there purchase books online? When you do so, where do you purchase them? I LOVE books and am always looking for a good deal on them. I want to get some special pop up books for the child that I nanny for but they're normally $10 books, so I am hoping to find a good deal on them. I was hoping to hear some of the great sites you order books at online. Here are some of the sites I use on a regular basis: www.amazon.com www.bn.com www.borders.com www.half.com www.bookcloseouts.com

I used to buy books in Amazon,it's really cheaper than the same one sold in bookstores nearby. However i find another cheaper ways, now i just read the books in my mobile phone, which are all downloded from the internet without any money. Its another great advantage is that it makes reading so convenient. If you love,it can be here and where.

Hey It really is! But what I love most is the feeling when you can feel with a real book in my hands. Lol

I use half.com and amazon too. I usually need to start shopping for my college textbooks in August and I would search for them online first before I buy them in the bookstore since they are usually cheaper even including shipping. I get so happy when I get a good deal online. Go online shopping!

I think it's great you buy text books online. I didn't really know about it when I went to college, so I always paid an arm and a leg at the college book store!

I haven't bought books in so long. Well, I guess except at used book stores -- they're my Achilles Heel. :) I'm pretty active on bookmooch ( http://www.bookmooch.com ) and so I list books I no longer want, and request new ones. I'm not sure how they are for children's books, but for yourself it might be worth checking out.

Is it like a book trade? What about shipping costs then? Does it make it worth it?

I think so, even with our ridiculous shipping costs here in Canada (it costs us almost twice as much to send within our own COUNTRY, as it does for those stateside to send to Canada), I've got some books that, a) I can't find in a bookstore here, and would have to pay for shipping anyway, which would be double the shipping costs to bookmooch it, or b) Are like brand new, and cost me literally half (or even less, depending on how many points I accumulated just from adding books to my inventory) of what they would on Amazon.

I do get some of my books online from www.bn.com and I usually pick from the used books instead of the new ones... and I use my gift cards that I get from mypoints in order to get my books from there. I have looked into a few other sites that offer gift cards as a bonus (like squishy cash has chips that you can convert to gift cards) along with making money as well....so that I can get more gift cards and get my books that way. otherwise, I have 2 used book stores that I go to when I am looking for older series books... and Target, Walmart and kmart are good for when I am looking for new releases because they are automatically 25% off the cover. Happy mylotting and happy reading!!

For some reason I don't have much luck with earning cash back when shopping on sites like that. I don't know what it is? But anyways, I'm not very brave when it comes to trying the used version. I've only ever done that a couple of times and each time I get a book in used condition it doesn't come out to be very nice! I've gotten them where they're old, stained, and smell and where they're actually ripped and the bind is broken. I guess maybe I'm kinda anal about books and enjoy the new ones? lol
