yes,I'll check the price while choosing what to order on the menu. For me,I try to minimum my outcome, because I always want to save more money. But if I have meals with my friends,I won't act like this.Even if it's expensive,I probably choose it,especially while I'm hanging out with girls...there not so many chances to be with friends,so just enjoy everything!

I haven't found one yet,but I believe the time is near... Actually for any female friend,I won't "cherish" my money,ha..not to say my future-gf..and each time I hang out with girls, there is no chance for them to pay.

Hi Kmaram and Acie, My hubs and I are poles apart. He just take the menu and order the food. But for me, I will look into the menu and check the price before I order anything. If there are a few things that I would like to eat, I will then pick the one with cheaper price. . And when come to shopping, I do the same. If I like 2 shirts but to choose for one to buy, I will normally take the cheaper one.

I usually check the prices, whether I'm buying dinner or someone else....there's always the rare occasion where someone says "get what you want, pretend the prices aren't there" and I do but then feel guilty after that....I took my three kids to my favorite restaurant one night for dinner, told them to order what ever they wanted and you know what? they did! for the four of us the bill was over $200.00 and that's the last time I told them that! Now if I take them I tell them to take it easy on me or make them pick up the tip (well, the older two anyways who are 21 and 19 and have jobs) but I do have to agree with you, price shouldn't matter on special occasions, and if it's the only time you get to spend together, you do need to enjoy it!

Yup, i will be doing that sometimes.. hehe ^_^ Because i might be able to get some of the food listed there, somewhere else for better quality with lower price.. hehe ^_^ Besides when i'm at some restaurants or wherever, i'm just there for the ambience, not because of the food.. haha =D Thus, i dun see much reasons as to why i should be paying so much? hehe ^_^ BUt once in a while splurge or expensive food is fine for me, as well as any happy occasions.. haha =D

Depends on whether I plan to eat out or spur of the moment eat in the restaurant. If it's a new one and I happen to pass by and check it out if the foods okay and the prices, I always check the menu and the prices and compare it with the other old restaurants. I don't check the prices if the restaurants I go to are the ones I go to regularly and I don't check if someone else is paying which is mostly what happens LOL. But if it's planned, the eat out in the restaurant, I have more knowledge of the prices and always notice the increase in prices too. And when it's eating out with friends and you chip in with the bill, we always check the prices.

We share the bill/payment but there were times when I did pay the bill as a sort of blow out like having a first salary or celebrating something. But mostly there are only 3 of us.

Yes, I always check the price before ordering it. I am a person who is very calculative and I do calcuation before buying anything, not only food. I don't mind paying for something which I like very much. I look at the price doesn't mean that I don't go for expensive dishes. I don't buy a very expensive dish if I don't really like it.

When my husband and I go out to eat at a restaurant we usualy do not look at the prices as much as we look at the menu itself. We get what we want to eat and pay for it. Many times we will get a little extras with our meal, my husband likes the steak and shrimp dinners and many times he orders extra shrimp. I always like a salad before my meal and if it does not come with the meal, I will order one as an extra side.I also like sauteed mushrooms on my steak and many times it is an extra cost. Like I have always said, "If you want it, it is worth buying." Eat and Enjoy!

We like going to a good steak house, TGI Fridays or Texas Road House are 2 we like, also a locally owned steak house. We try to go out 1-3 times a month as a treat, we rarely have room for dessert but if we do we split a slice of cheesecake. There are times that we will go out for just coffee and dessert too, then we have Boston Cream Pie, cheesecake or a fruited pie.

Hi acie~ I also check the price before ordering the dish in canteen, maybe not just budget but a compare the price of the same dish between the different canteen. If the price is almost the same, then next time we will go to the cateen with better quality food, right? Also, I think china have so many kinds of dish and every has its specific cuisine,so every time you have a lot of choice,so look through mune and choose a new one maybe have a surprise to you~Also the price is there on the mune, it's easy go to your eyes~Do you like hot pot?I enjoy it very much~

Hot spot is like this, there is a pot with boiling soup, Then you can put the meet, vegetable, sausage, fish balls, bean curd(tofu)............................................................................into the hot spot and boil it until it cooked and then take out of the dish out of the hot spot and eat with condiment sauce. Very delicious! SPICY AND HOT ALSO...

Hello! Most times When I go out to eat it is rare so I treat myself . If it is a fly by day idea and like lets grab some lucng on the way home then I will look and see . I have noticed that I do do the deals that they have like at Applebee's 2 can dine for 20 and they have an array of choices and you save a few . But if I am craving I will order something else that might be a tad bit more of less. Because sometimes i dont feel like something before dinner.

From the settings of the restaurant, we might get some idea about the price level. Unless for grand occasions like birthday or festaval dinners, we do not go to very expensive restaurants. Even with familiar ones, I would check the price when ordering.

If I am paying and I need to save money, I will do that. I will even do a quick calculation in my mind for the total (I am so cheap ) I don't want what I order exceed my wallet. It will be a nightmare! I can't imagine the shame and I might need to do the dishes to make it up for the cost. If it's for celebration and money is not an issue, I'll just order what I want. Don't spoil the fun with the price.

Eating out does not fit into my budget at all. However, if I am the guest of someone then I will certainly check the price to make sure I am not ordering the most expensive. In any case, the most expensive is usually something I'd rather not eat, like beef. I usually prefer chicken.

Where I live, vegetables are very expensive.. I prefer a meat dish, pork or chicken, which comes with vegetables as a side dish anyway. Sometimes there is a choice of cooked vegetables or salad.

In an Ideal world, you could eat out without having to worry about how much it was going to cost, but some places will charge you for everything they can, adding on supplements, and service charges..Here,Legally,a Restaurant should have its menu on display outside so that you can see what to expect before going inside.. At the same time, there are People who don't read the menu fully or forget to bring their glasses to be able to read it! It can then be awkward when it's time to pay,and they need to ask what the extra charges are that they overlooked when ordering..

me and my boyfriend in a secluded beach in Palawan - This was taken while we were on vacation in Palawan..
I definitely check the prices first.. because I don't want to order food, then be shocked when the bill comes. lol. Though we seldom go to expensive restaurants, I'd rather eat at fastfoods where I really really enjoy the food plus it's inexpensive.. when we go to restaurants, we usually choose those that have buffets. hehehe.

We keep to once every couple months, as we are a group of 5 with the kids the budget is pretty tight we can't all get $12-$20 dishes. As for cuisine well that changes just about every time, if up to my 4 yr. old it would all be Mexican where my 8 yr. old loves Sushi, the oldest really changes day by day...lol. What do you guys go to get?

All the time! It really pays to check how much you've got in your pocket and check it against how much you're about to spend. Ha ha, as I've said in one of your posts, I'm the eater kind of person so it matters a lot to me being able to eat a lot for the little money that I have. I don't go for those fine dining stuff, to me, food is food. =) I'm all for tummy fillers regardless of the flavor and all. Of course it won't hurt to go fine dining once in a while but it doesn't seem to be much worth spending all your savings on specially now that the world is pitched in crisis.

Heh heh, can't really blame you for that. Like, of course when you weren't married, you're still not required to share in the expenses and that the both of you aren't living all on your own just yet. Yea, married life really looks nasty specially when it comes to finances. So many expenses, so many things needed to spend on, and yet too little sources of income. Pfff...

=) Don't mention it. And thanks, too, for the welcome. =D Truth is I don't eat out that much. I only get to eat out whenever some friends or family asks me out...and of course, I make sure they pay. Ha ha! But when I eat out where I do have to pay the bill or pick up the tab, I did eat out with my girlfriend. Good thing is that we're both thrifty and price conscious which makes me save a lot more for other stuff I could give her. The better part about the topic is that I check out different restaurants and fastfoods just to canvass and see which offers the cheapest and yet the best foodstuff. It's getting the most out of what you eat for the least price to pay. Heh heh.
