Music While Studying/Working or A Silent Background?

Heya fellow myLotters! When studying/working, do you listen to music or prefer a silent background? In my case, although there are times that I'd like to listen to music, I always prefer a silent background especially when my work involves a lot of thinking. But for jobs (such as chores) that doesn't require much work on the brain, I always tune in to my favorite songs. How about you? Do you prefer music or silence when working/studying? Happy myLotting!

i can concentrate more if there's music in the background. and the music drowns out people's voices. i get distracted when there are people talking. i usually wear earphones and set the volume to high so that i can do some work/studying. :-D

When i was in school and was at home studying i always had the music on as it helped me a lot because the silent background just never seemed to help me out and i would doze off and maybe even fall asleep so the music always helped me out in that department. I also turn on the music when i might be cleaning up in the kitchen or just cleaning around the house, even doing laundry i might turn on the music. I also turn on the music when I'm baking and cooking because again the silent background just isn't any good at all and to quit bugs me after a while.

before i used to do that but learning cant be done in that atmosphere, for learning we need a silent atmosphere so that the contents easily gets into our head. if we are listening to songs or our concentration is divided then studies are surely to be affected.

I know some friends too who listen to music while doing their homework. Some would even have their TV on ;) Somehow I can't seem to concentrate with music on the background when studying or doing work that require thinking. Especially when it's a favorite music of mine. It's like my mind gets confused on which to pay attention to, lol.
