It's a little late now, and it sounds totally absurd, but the next time you burn your mouth like that, put some sugar directly on the burn (hard to do on the roof of your mouth but works really well on your tongue). Let it sit until it dissolves. It's not a miracle cure that will make it stop hurting right away but you won't have that sandpapery feeling the next day. I don't know why it works but it works.

Hi, aamir030586. Yes, I have experienced this. And it is no fun at all. Hot foods of any kind, will burn the crap out of my mouth. And then it takes forever for the sting to go down some.

When I go home from work I feel very angry and I ask food the first time so I cannot wait till I get my food and sometimes my mother has not even prepared the dinner so once I even eat the food while it was very hot and I burnt my tongue while doing so.

Very rarely. Since I am from South India, where we eat with our bare hands and so if anything were to be scalded by hot food, it would be the hand. Much less painful and even less smarting.

Hello Aamir. Yes I've burnt my mouth, a long time ago though. I was out with friends and there were roast potatoes on the bar in the pub, we could help ourselves. I didn't know they were freshly cooked and I picked up a small one and put it all in my mouth, my next drink had lots of ice in it! I had a sore tongue for days after that :)

Yes, but I try to let my food cool down a bit otherwise I won't be able to taste anything.
