I do quite a bit of shopping online. So far, I have been fortunate. On Ebay, I look for 5-star vendors who have done business for a few years on the internet. I check their return policies. I read their reviews to see if they had any problems in the past. I always use a credit card. I prefer a vendor that has a street address as well as an email address. I also find an excuse to contact the vendor and ask a question. How they answer you can be a clue as to whether you want to do business with them or not. If the vendor does not deliver as promised, you can dispute the purchase and your credit card company will stand behind you. You must submit your dispute in writing and have your receipts (printed from the computer), confirmation emails, etc. Sorry for your bad experience.

I have been buying from ebay for a few years now. I have been really happy with what I have been buying. There was 2 minor issues that I have come across. The first one, I had bought rechargable batteries and the charger. I requested an invoice, then waited and waited. I got nothing. Next I know, I was reported as non payer bidder. So I requested contact details and explain my situation to the seller. They had over looked my request for the invoice. They sent one through and I paid straight away. I got the item. But they didn't lift the non paying bidder report on me. So I contact them again. It was all sorted. We both gave each other positive responces. The other issue I had was about a memory card that I bought. It was suppose to be a 2 gig memory card for my cell phone. It was stamped at 2 gig. But when I got it and checked it out, it was only 1 gig. I did some research on the internet to see how much a 1 gig card was with postage and found that I still saved money even on the 1 gig card. I had no problem because the card still worked. Regardless, I was still happy. Today, I still use the same card and have not filled the memory card. I have only used 63% of the card. So the end result even today, I am really happy. I normally would keep away from any thing that is electronics and cars. But my last item I bought was an FM transmitter for my cell phone so that I can use my cell phone in the car on hands free. I do keep to a rule to only buy off sellers with a 98% or higher rating after my 2 small issues. If it is below 98%, I won't buy even if I really want to have an item that the seller is selling.

Hi, wangkai. I am sorry that you have a bad experience on ebay. I think it's damaged so fast because it is a used item??? So far, i only bought books from ebay. A month ago, i have bought my son the used english story books from two ebay sellers. I am happy with the books' conditions. They are not that bad like i thought. I think whether we will have good or bad experience, it all depends on the sellers. Normally i search for the reputation of sellers first. If their reputation is good, then i think should be ok. I wish you have a happy online shopping next time Have a nice day and happy mylottin!

I have never bought anything on ebay. I did sell some items about on ebay but I only sold items that were not broken. The way I understand is you need to contact the person you bought it from and they should have you send it back and refund your money. Good luck.

Did you look over the feedback on the seller? It's always important to check this before you buy as well as give honest feedback once you receive any items so that other potential buyers will know if the seller is reliable or not. (That is, if they still do it this way.) I haven't bought any items off of eBay recently, though I (or rather, my husband) have gotten a few things before. A couple of the items were just like they were described on the site. But there was one item that he had gotten that didn't seem so great. It was like the description for it was over exaggerated. But at least it didn't cost too much, and he has gotten his use out of it, so it's not like there was any really loss. Happy mylotting!

I have bought several items from E-Bay and only once encountered the situation of the item not working. I was a USB cord for my mobile phone and all I did was email the seller and explain that the cord did not do what it was supposed to do. The seller was very good and promptly sent me another one. You will find that sellers on E-Bay will keep their customers happy because they don’t want a negative rating from the buyer.

I'm sorry. I understand that is a sad experience. I am new to online purchase and I only bought a personalized puzzle from a website, not ebay. I got it delivered in good condition and on time. I am scared about buying online. I don't know how to go about it if we don't get the item delivered. So, I think it is risky to go for online purchase when it comes to expensive items. I am planning to buy a used book from Amazon. What do you say?

I'm so sorry to hear about your negative experience with the camera. That really is a sad thing. As for us, we really haven't bought anything on ebay for a while, not because we've had bad luck with the things that we've bought, but rather because we haven't had the money to buy extra things. In the past I've used Ebay for all kinds of purchases and nothing that I've ever gotten has not been all that I expected it to be. I guess one of the main differences is that I've never purchased a higher ticket item from Ebay. I believe, however, that you might be able to file a complaint through paypal to get your money back if that is how you paid for the camera.
