How many hours do you sleep?

Most people in mylot are online earners or those who spend much time socializing online. Tendency is we get too glued infront of our computers and sometimes we do not notice it's already late at night. I admit, I spend so much time online for my online work and surfing stuff. Most of the time I get a few hours of sleep because of spending too much time online. I ma lucky if I get 5 hours sleep. I would say I regularly sleep 4 hours a day average. Although sometimes I nap at noon, I feel like I still lack energy, so I tend to eat a lot. How about you? How much time you sleep?

I sleep for eight hours in the night.Only if i got work then i will sleep for four or five hours in the night.I do not take afternoon naps. When i have my exams i sleep for two hours as i keep revising for the exam in the end moment.Actually six to eight hours is the recommended time for sleep. If i get tired from work in the evenings i will directly go to sleep and eat dinner late in the night.

On workdays (Mon - Fri) I get much less sleep because I spend too much time online, and have to wake up early to get to work! However on a weekend, I do tend to stay up a few hours later, but also have a few hours extra sleep, unless I have a prior arangement then I have to wake up earlier again. For example today I had to wake up early, and have to do it again tomoz!

I like to get around 6-8 hours, but can live off of four to five hours of sleep as long as I have a few nights where I turn it a little early

Good for you koalapenguin. You are managing your time properly. I think working mothers like me can hardly manage time properly reason why we do not sleep enough hours.

I sleep for about 7 hours at night and take a nap at noon for about 40 minutes. I still feel quite sleepy, I think I may not have a good quality sleeping. Anyway I feel I am less appetite due to less of sleeping.

That's really too little time that you are sleeping right there. Can't say I could stand sleeping so little. Although I have an insomnia problem, when I get to sleep finally I do it for at least 6 hours. Normally it's between 6 to 10 hours, even. Though yesterday I slept only 2 hours and now my biological clock is sort of estranged..

Hi aicasalinks! I used to have some sleep problems. I would be lucky to get to sleep for 3 to 4 hours straight. But now that I have adopted a new lifestyle, I get to have 7 to 8 hours of sleep. It is indeed very good for me especially that I have to be up and about the whole day. When I do not have to work the next day, I sleep for longer hours.

I often can't sleep if I'm in front of the PC and because of it I often feel tired next day. Today I've slept only 5 hours, but my optimal sleep duration is 6-8 hours. Happy mylotting and take care!

Thanks Fadolf. I am glad you are getting enough sleep. Six to eight hours is the ideal sleeping hours for adults like us. Happy mylotting and take care too.

4 hours! That is my dream that will be a goal for me. Anyway, how did you get used to 4 hour sleep? For me, 4-5 hours is enough and keeps alert the whole day while I sometimes nap in tyhe afternoon. My problem is that I struggle to get my body to get used to this... How did you do it? Please tell me...

We pretty much have the same sleeping hours. Although I nap at least an hour every afternoon. If you only have one hour lunch break and you spend half of it napping, that means you spend the other half eating?

Eight hours for praying? That must be unusual unless you are a member of the church or something. I pray regularly but not as much as you do.

Speaking to you from my medical background doing this much on the internet is going to be hard on your eyes. Maybe not today or next week, but if you are on that long you are risking the health of your eyes. Also when you start noticing your wrists or hands start bothering you (again maybe not today) you will be putting yourself towards carpel tunnel) Also if you are eating more and not getting up and going outside and exercising in fresh air even if its only walking, you are a possible candidate for later obesity and diabetes. Humans were not meant to sit still in a chair in front of a little machine. I enjoy mylot like someone would enjoy playing an online game for a bit. I usually put mylot on when I have just taken my sleeping pill and I know I have 30minutes to an hour for the pill to kick in and I shut off my netbook. But seriously get some exercise in your regime. You have no idea what can happen if you don't. I had 5 children so I have stayed active my whole life so even now after they are grown I have not slowed down because I want to. I now have spinal desinegration and trust me its not fun so get out and enjoy your life and you need more sleep. I ususally sleep about 10 hours. Before I had my sleeping pill I was barely sleeping. My days and nights were messed up from working various shifts in my life. And the different jobs I had and running my own business did not help matters. Thats why I seriously say to you take time for yourself and make sure you exercise. There are way to many things that could happen from you spending that much time in front of this little machine. I could not name them all. Bless you get some rest.

Thanks for the tip. I try minimizing my time in front of the computer and add more sleep hours. I also feel the effects now.

Normally, the human body needs 8 hours of sleep and its healthy to sleep between 10pm and 8am. The sleep from 10pm to 12pm its the most important. I sleep 8 - 9 hours a day and I'm still tyerd and that's because I stay up late.

I usually sleep about 5 hours a day through the week when I'm working because like a lot of other people, I'm on the computer or watching movies and I work long hours which doesn't help. On my off days and some weekends, I am able to get in about 8-9 hours which helps me get ready for the lack of sleep the coming week. Sometimes if I'm extremely tired at work I might take a nap on my lunch break and set the alarm on my cell to wake me up. It doesn't happen often though. I've recently been thinking about rearranging my schedule and using my time better to get more sleep because it is better. Good discussion!

Hello, growing up I slept on average of 9 hours a night. As I got older and had to divide my time between school and work,I started geting less sleep. One thing I found out, if I can get at least 7 hours of sleep nighly I keep weight off easier.I tried waking after 5 hours of sleeping I was more on edge. I don't eat more when I have less sleep but after I did my own experiment on sleep I weigh less when I have at least 7 hours of sleep.I don't spend too much time on my computer. I search and work and then I go offline. I spend maybe 30 minutes on mnylot but it depends on if I find some discussion that gets my interest.anyway. I try to get at least 7 hours of sleep every night.

I would say I get between 5 and 7 hours of sleep a day. After only getting about 5 hours of sleep for a few days I am so tried that I go to bed early and that is when I get 7 hours.

Hi aicasalinks, I sleep 6 hrs each day, but during week end i tend to sleep more hours. I am spending my extra online business usually 2hours each day depending on my work schedule. I agree with you that when we are deprive of sleep we tend to eat more.
