I posted this in friends, but really I don't know where I should put it It's so silly it could be a panda spanking discussion aswell, but I don't personally think it's funny people do this. Best to just have a good laugh about it, but oh well.. here's the deal. Most of the people who use MSN messenger or any type of messenger program will have heard of online possibilities to see if someone has blocked you on their list or removed you from their list. I do remove people occaisonally to who I don't talk and that do not talk back either. No hard feeling, I do not block them, I just try to keep my list organized so that I can easily find people that I do talk to and that contact me aswell. Thing is, off lately I've been getting e-mails that tell me some of the people on my list (or off my list) have been checking if I blocked them. Now seriously, I am such an evil, angry person that they daren't ask me themselves? (no comments, James! lol). What's going wrong in this world that we instantly think people will get mad or sad if we ask a simple question? If they had ask me, I would have explained why I have deleted them of my list and that I have no hard feelings. I can add them in a blink if they want contact again, but some of these people haven't been talking (back) to me for months now. Have you had a person block check you? How did you feel about it? Did you confront them with it? I did. How silly is it to go around someones back to see if they blocked you, if the program sends an instant message to the person who's account has been checked?

personally i dont really care if someone would block me. i wouldn't "hurt" lol because i do the same. i do delete people to stay organized, no hard feelings. i think its funny that people would want to ask or get mad about it because really, that's just so petty.

I agree with you, why waste energy on something like that? And besides, if the program isn't thrustworthy you might get mad about something that isn't even there. I don't see why people can't ask about it if they really care about it so much. But as said before, it might be a virus and I e-mailed them to check if they would come forward about it or not.

You've nailed it right there; why make such a fuzz if you don't talk to someone in the first place? It's ok for you not to contact someone in ages but you get ticked off when someone deletes you off their list. Most of the time these are people I have tried to contact a couple of times but gave up on; I don't like it when friendship goes in one direction; as it's not friendship if only one side keeps initiating the contact. There are also people though that I don't know, who added me and then never talk to me. I don't talk to them either because I don't know them and I allready have enough people on my list. Introduce yourself and we might have fun talking, otherwise buzz off .

i just think its funny that they care so much when you dont really even talk LOL. like, yeah, big deal. If a person has that much time to fuss over it, I think it's funny but then I'd feel sorry for him/her because he/she must have a pretty boring life lol.

hi cyberfluf, I dont use my email to chat..with strnagers.. i dont like to chat with anyone ..only i use it to chat with very few close friends and they are the only ones on my list so even if they havent talked to me for say 6 months i wont delete them and thus i get no chance of ppl checking if i have deleted or blocked them. I have not deleted any friend here as i dont have time to check who is active and who is not so i have yet to get any mail to see if i have blocked someone or not.

I doubt that mylot will sent us messages like that. I only got them from messenger and I am still not sure whether it was a bug or a true website. Just out of curiousity; if you don't like to chat with strangers, what is it that you like about mylot? It involves a lot of chatting with strangers in my opinion.

You're not an evil, angry person cyberfluf! Left of centre at times maybe, but not evil or angry! I couldn't care less if someone blocked me to be honest. Good for them! If they were someone who truly meant something to me, then it would never have gotten to that stage anyway. I'm always amazed by how seriously people can take things like this. Yeah it's silly! Is it really THAT important to find who blocked you and then confront them about it? Sounds like a complete and utter waste of time and energy if you ask me! Same goes with being removed from a "friend's" list. I couldn't care less about that either.

We are so on the same level on this one . If people want to know why and if I blocked or removed them, ok fine, but just ask me. Just to make sure that it isn't a virus I am running my virusscanner. I did e-mail these people though to ask them if they did use a program like this, and explain that I want to make sure so that I (and they too) don't have some sort of virus. Imagine what we could do for this world if we could let people stop using these services! LOL

Well, I honestly would never come to know because I use an email for my current MSN account that's been looong out of use. Anyone who tries to mail me through that address will just get bounced back, and if they try to use those online systems I won't really get to know anything... neither will them. A while back this kind of thing partially worked, but now it's impossible to tell by any direct mean if a given contact is online or not, so many times you have that kind of site that returns a "Person X is offline", that leaves the one asking a bit relieved one way or another, and you have those sites that always claim that "Person X is online" even though it may be offline, and this just makes people go ape crazy thinking that they were blocked even when not. So, I think it's silly altogether of people trying to resort to those sites for anything. It just won't work.

I agree that it's a silly thing. The best way to find out is to ask the person in question. Sites like this only get attention because a lot of people are to affraid to ask. Who knows what virusses you get and whether or not it is true? It's not worth your time and effort. Thanks for replying.
