Are you a people pleaser?

I think that it's always important to be nice to people especially when you meet them for the first time. However, being nice doesn't mean that you should be taken advantage of or walked all over! This is something I absolutely hate in people that try to take advantage of people being nice. I always used to give in and try to please everyone but you cannot please everyone all of the time. I think it's best to follow your heart and do what feels right inside. I find it easier to say no to someone now but I used to have extreme difficulty with this. I like being a little tougher, it makes me feel good inside and I would not dream of taking advantage of someone that was exceptionally nice and kind! Andrew

From my experience, I find that people like to please people they don't know like the stranger they meet at the store for the first time and then treat their loved ones very badly even taking them for granted. Why do people do this? Shouldn't you treat your loved ones better than you would a stranger that you've met for the first time?

It has always been and will always be hard for me to say no to someone. My parents raised me to be agreeable to everything and to do what they told me to. Now, as an adult, I can't break the cycle. The only people that I have no problem saying no to are my kids. And even then, I usually end up giving in.
