How was the longest run on your preparing to run the marathon. I think there is some correlation beetwen the longest run, the time of training and the result in marathon. Please write: 1) Distance of the longest run - my is 35 KM (~22 Miles) 2) Time of this training - 3h05 3) Time of marathon 42 KM (26,2 Miles) - 3h18

Your times do look really good. I haven't run a marathon yet either. I'm doing the bike tour of a marathon next month though. Just to get a feel for the distance. I have my eye on a marathon in March. But it all depends on how injury free I am. I also have my eye on a half marathon in January, which is much more realistic for me.

Thanks. It is good idea to run half-marathon before the marathon distance. I've always do that. And after half-marathon I do some corrects in my training - I know what I need - endurance or pace.

I haven't run a marathon yet though your times look good and I've read some training programs that end at between 20-23 miles prior to the race and I believe the "taper" was at least a week with no long runs prior.

Thanks, but with tapering - I make the last long run 3 weeks before marathon. I'think it is the best for me. I need 3 weeks of taper before start.
