So, I'm out of prison. Has anyone else been in a military jail recently?

I recently spent about four months at fort knox's RCF and wonder at the differences between them. For instance, at Fort Knox you weren't allowed to sleep during the day except on the weekends and holidays. The only other exception was if you had night time duties, or you were sick. I've heard that in many naval jails you can sleep all day, but had to ask permission for everything else, including bathroom usage. So, who's been in a military prison? Notice i'm not asking why you were there but you can feel free to say so if you like.

i really feel for your situation. We have sons in the military and it isnt easy. They preach the importance of family and how much they encourage family involvement but yet when you uphold your obligations to family you are punshied. If someone wanted to go home for a parent having a head cold i could see it but seriously our gov needs to change some rules they have double standards. My son knows another military guy that a similar situation happened and he got 90 days for leaving to deal with a family issue. Veru unfair i agree wheres your parade:(

I was kidding about the parade, but that was nice of you to say. The judge tried to give me 2 years in prison. If I hadn't pled guilty, which I never said I wasn't, i'd STILL be in jail. As it was they gave me five months on a plea deal, and I got out in four.

although i don't have any personal experience being in a military prison or any other prison for that matter, i would just like to say that it is good u are done with it and now free. i know how it is for one to be stripped of some of life's comforts but u are still lucky where u are. in our country, it is terrible living inside our prisons (im working in the agency dealing with parolees and probationers) and it is always the best to be living a free man. God bless!

Lol. Don't forget our Volleyball court, two gyms, four basketball courts, library, and the fact that we had steak and shrimp every friday. Soldiers from the rest of the base, actually nco's and officers, sometimes wandered in just to eat there. There was always a major cleaning effort on thursdays, I think it was. That was soul food day.. people would fight over the hamhocks man. I prefered taco wednesdays myself.

Did I mention that the former friend is Brent Burke, the guy from Ft. Campbell that murdered his wife?

No, you didn't. Damn. That's a rare one right there. Someone going to military prison that actually deserves a jail sentence. Most of the guys I met were in there for similar crap to me. Yeah, we broke military law and all that, but comparing what we did to murder, rape, and the string of child molesters that got their butts kicked daily is ridiculous. That must have been a serious shock when you found out what he did.
