What do you think about the new Melrose Place?

I watched the series premiere of the new Melrose Place. Honestly, I wasn't very impressed. I don't forsee this show staying on the air very long. I didn't feel the acting was very believable and the story line just didn't grab me. Anyone feel the same way? Differently?

I didn't know they're reviving Melrose Place. I was into the original Melrose Place; the one with Viggo Mortensen but that was like decades ago. I hope it's not as bad as the revival of 90210. I hate the new 90210. I prefer the original Beverly Hills 90210. Over here we don't get the latest shows as the US so who's in the new Melrose Place?

Well, Ashlee Simpson-Wentz is in it (plays Violet). She sings, was in 7th Heaven, but I think she is most well known for being Jessica Simpson's sister. The only other cast member I'm familiar with besides Ashlee is the woman who plays Ella - Katie Cassidy. She was the original Ruby on Supernatural, she was also the bride in the CBS mystery series Harper's Island. And to my great surprise, she is David Cassidy's daughter. He was from my mom's time.
Besides the old cast members of Sydney and Michael being on the show, they are going to bring back a few more of the old vets for guest arcs.

Wow Ashlee Simpson is really following her sister's footstep getting into acting. And Katie Cassidy is in it too? I like her in Supernatural. And I was aware that she's the daughter of David Cassidy. She doesn't look anything like David except maybe the color of her hair if that is the real color of her hair.

I had heard that they were bringing the show back. I was a loyal viewer of the first one. I didn't know it was on already. Can you tell when its on and what channel? I want to see if its worth watching or not. The first Melrose Place was great to me. Thanks!

It's on Tuesday nights on CW at 8pm. Well, it's 8pm my time, maybe 9pm your time depending where you're at (zones confuse me...lol).

I never got into the original show however many years ago. I want to get into this one to support several of the cast. I love Colin Egglesfield!(although, I could swear his name was something else!) He played Josh Madden on All My Children. I also think Katie Cassidy is awesome. She looks so different as a blonde! She was brunette for Harper's Island. There are several other characters whose faces I recognize, but am not sure from where.
I didn't think the pilot was bad at all. I plan to give it a chance.

You know, I thought it was just okay. I primarily checked it out because Katie Cassidy has been awesome in everything I've seen her in: Supernatural, the movie Taken, and Harper's Island. I don't really expect much from Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, but she had such a small part in the pilot that I'm kind of undecided.
I'm going to keep watching mainly for two characters - Ella and David. I liked them right off.

I didn't know that she was David Cassidy's daughter. I have to admit, I'm still going to watch it. I was a big fan of the original, so I'm a little harsh of the remake. I heard reviews of Ashlee's performance and they weren't so good, but like you said, she wasn't a big part of the pilot. I think that people are extra hard on her too.
