Apps on iPhone / myLot

I was wondering if the App store was the only place to get iPhone applications, as all the good apps are only available in The US store, and it is quite expensive. Are there any membership sites offering all iphone apps?

I heard that you can get the TCM application from Turner Classic Movies. Also some banks do offer applications, as well as some of the cooking networks. I am interested in cooking and recipe sites as well as wanting to do my banking on my iphone and probably would go for the later if it were not that I sort if make up very complicated and easy to forget passwords.

I am Chinese,I love Iphone,I love app,I love Steve Jobs.Unfortunaly,I canot find any iphones in China.
