I truly believe that proper dreamcatchers (i.e. full size native ones like I had) work - but not always for good. My ex bought me one from North America, and I hung it by my bed. I had the most dreadful nightmares and, for sure, "something" entered the house that night. From then until we finally moved I was plagued by some spook, demon, call it what you will both awake and asleep. Anyhow, the dreamcatcher ended up hanging on the stairs, as I didn't trust it in the bedroom area. Just before we moved out I had a really nasty experience downstairs, when my unweanted "visitor" flew at me while I was typing. I screamed my head off and ran. Next morning, the middle of the dreamcatcher - which had been pristine the night before - was ripped to shreds, the way a spider's web looked when it;'s been destroyed. It was a if the "thing" in my house had torn right through it. This is true. My feeling is, they can attract bad things as well as trap them. I'll never use one again!

Oh your story is quite scary to me. I do have one but never thought anything about them as being evil. I have one hanging in my living room because my living room is a indian decor. I just like the design of them really. Sorry about what you went thru with yours.

The house was pretty scary anyway - before we ever got the catcher installed. So I believe they really do keep "night demons" away (which is what native Americans believe nightmares are caused by)and that most DCs work. But I also believe they work by setting a "lure" to trap the spirits - and that sometimes these spirits are powerful enough to break free. But the lure has been set - so they return ... I guess to make dreamcatchers ultra-effective, a few powerful medicine man spells have to be said over them, by the owner!

I have never heard of bad things with a dream catcher. I have never used one. I'm not sure I want to after your experience. Was your house haunted before you had the dream catcher. It's a good thing you moved. I was some shows about homes that are haunted and the people stay there.

I have one hanging in my living room but I just like it for the decor of my living room. I love indian decor. So I guess I don't truly believe in them.
