have you ever started a discussion that you wanted to run away from either because you just realised that you'd written something silly or because of a difficult response? i've had one that i left alone because i didn't want to have the same debate with a responder (who happened to be a friend) that i'd just had with someone else.

ya sometimes it happened with me also but i am not afraid of the comments or kind of responses that can come to my discussions there are diffeent people with differnt thinkings so they may write whatever they want to.

ehhe sometimes if i get bore dand i've had a good lot of responses (usually i dont get that many) i give up and stop going back to it. especially if i have to keep repeating the same thing over and over again to each new respondee..

Well not that I can think of off the top of my head. I did have one recently that had so many responses that I just couldn't get caught up and so I just responded to the best responders and skipped the rest (bad, lazy Dawn)...

you can always go back to it later. or start beginning extremely dull discussions.

Oh, yes, I've had them. It's more like people lost the point of my post and focused on one thing.

there's some that are determined to say something no matter whether it's relevant or not.

Hi jb, This is a personal choice but if you consider the spirit of the discussion you should not retreat as he/she happened to be your friend. Unless there are contrary opinions a discussion loses flavor. I do attend regardless to friend and minus friends. and I had similar situation faced earlier.

yes, you don't want discussions to be little agreement parties. in this case i'd been pretty tough with the first responder and didn't want to go through the same thing again. this was quite a while ago and i don't think i'd do the same thing now.

Hi Judith, I've wanted to run away from one where no one read a word beyond the title whilst the introduction said please add variety with different examples but all the responses were based on the title only so more or less all the same. Very difficult to repond to lots of identical answers. Never mind reading all the responses, what about at least a bit of the introduction.

Must say being told to leave ones own discussion is a bit rich, I can't believe you actually went and did it. Many of my earlier discussions did not meet the vast attention they deserved due to my inept use of titles. Had a brilliant one about severed heads nailed to the house walls down this way not so long ago but entitled it something stupid like 'how would you decorate the outside of your house' and that's exactly what they all told me rather than noticing the actual tradition I was attempting to bring to the fore. But I'm working on titles and next time I would use the more apt 'severed heads hung on house walls'.
