Some people are argueing saying the drinking age should be lifted to 25 while others firmely believe it should be 18 what's your opinion on this?Do you feel military members should be allowed to drink at 18?I'm am torn with this. I feel 21 is a good drinking age but sometimes I wonder if like other countries and there was no drinking age would children be less likely to go crazy once hitting that age? More so before I was 21 I definely had been drinking long before. I actually go out to bars a lot less now that I'm over 21. It's lost it's appeal to me. This is something I'm torn about. I do however feel that if a person is strong and stable enough to fight for this country they should be aloud to make choices protaining to drinking. What do you think?

It should be dropped to 18. The reason there are so many kids out there doing it behind the backs of their family members and teachers is because it has been made into this big rebellious landmark in the teenage life. Take away the astigmatism and things will be better. Also at what point is some one an adult. At 18 you are old enough to live on your own, hold a full time job, vote, but you cannot drink? That is ridiculous.

I totally totally agree with you. I don't see why so many people don't SEE that the age of adulthood should be the age for everything. I just think it should. As it stands, since it is 21 in the US, that means we are depriving LEGAL ADULTS of something and that doesn't seem right. It irritates me, even knowing how immature a lot of 18 year olds are. I know there are some who are NOT immature and I hate it when EVERYBODY is penalized due to the stupidity of just SOME. That isn't fair. I have faced that myself in the past and I do not support it in any terms, regardless of the situation.

I don't think the legal age should be changed. It's 18 here, and I think its fine. The way I look at it: the teens who want to drink will drink anyways, whether the age is 18 or 21 or 25. There are more important things for the police to be enforcing than legal age. Drunk driving and violent crimes are way worse than a teenager getting drunk with his or her friends. As for the military, here the legal age is 18, so it wouldn't change anything. Otherwise, I don't think they should get special treatment.

Where are you? I believe that 18 ought to be the legal age for everything. Everything. Being completely responsible for yourself, entering a binding contract, not needing any parental consent or event notification, driving, voting, military service, marriage, whatever, and drinking ought to be included. If someone legally emancipates themselves, I'm not sure they should be allowed to drink if they are 15, but then again I don't think that would be the primary focus of an emancipated 15 year old anyway.

hello BStuff, In my own opinion, I think the drinking age should be 21. In this case, high school students should be reprimanded in doing so. Thus, avoiding and eliminating some criminal acts for that matter. For now a days, even at that age are doing such which is not good to their health and to their studies as well. Hope even smoking should have a limit age.

Smoking does have an age limit - which is 18. 18 is the age of legal adulthood, so that makes perfect sense to me. I do not believe in limiting legal adults, EVEN if they are immature and stupid.

Whats the point it wont change anything people will still be drinking no matter what happens. So I dont think they should change it and they should deffintley not lower it either I think its perfect right where it is 21 is a good age its up to the parents to tell there kids how bad drinking is.

I think the drinking age should stay where it is, except for members of the military who are old enough to die for this country they should be able to drink to relieve stress if they want to. Other than that I think it needs to stay where it is. It is not good to have it too low in my opinion.

I feel almost the same as you on this subject. Except I think soldiers should only be allowed the option while in active duty. I could see them getting in trouble at home with this privilge and younger friends

Well,I think nowaday is a open world, everyone must be responsibility for what they do.It's ok when some friend kept company and just for relax and just sip,but if you guys drunk and do something hurt yourself or others, that would be not.I admin my first drink was at my 14,but i don't drink drunk and don't drink much,I kown that's not good for health.

i think there may be even more under age drinking if they go and change it. the legal age is 18 in australia, and there's enough teenagers getting drunk most weekends with out moving the ages. i've never seen the point in getting drunk, nor going to parties to do that. i can have fun minus drinking.

First of all drinking is dangerous for heath and no one sees that just go on drinking and i don't think drinking should never be allowed whatever be the age, now a days its very common between teenagers if u want to drink then i think 24 or 25 is the right age and for military people drinking should not be allowed i mean if our army people will be like this then what should we expect from the country people.

hey. i think that it should either be raised to 21 or not have a age limit at all, so i totally agree with you. im 22 (so would still b able to drink if it went up to 21! haha). my parents let me drink some before i was 18 so i think that helped as i never get overley drunk. I went to University in England and there was a lot of binge drinking and can see how it could be dangerous.
