Preferance to dowry ?

In our religion there was no dowry instead the girls asked for their share or money rather than the boy. But now a days other religions effects have inserted in ours also. our people have also started taking dowry being provoked by the hindu culture where boys are given much preference. I am totally against dowry where girls are reguarded the cheapest and saddest thing for the parents and so are killed before the birth.
