...WONDERFUL!!!!! Has this ever happened to you? Almost a year ago, I got on a bus, and told the driver that I thought he had a really nice accent. Knowing there are a few Serbian bus drivers in Guelph, I figured I must have met one of them, so I asked him some questions about Serbian music and politics. He told me about a radio station in the area that plays a Serbian program on Sundays. i looked at the program schedule, and as well as the Serbian show, there is a wonderful Croatian one too. Serbian and Croatian are very close, so i knew I'd like both, and I have lots of Croatian music in my collection already. My husband and I started listening to both programs faithfully. The host of the Croatian show quickly became a friend of ours, and even dedicated music to us on our anniversary. This past weekend he mentioned a Croatian Dance Ensemble that would be coming to Toronto (I mentioned this in a previous thread) and my husband and I are trying to put enough money together to be able to attend. So, because one day I complimented a bus driver on his beautiful accent I've: -made two new friends (the driver, and the radio host) -discovered all kinds of new music -found something fun to do with my husband on Sundays -heard about a concert I want to attend -learned a lot about Croatian and Serbian history, politics, and music -got our favourite songs dedicated to hubby and I on our anniversary All because I told someone he has a nice accent!!! :) So, has something small ever led to something absolutely WONDERUFUl for you? what is it, and how did it happen?
