Kanye West Is A Jerk!

United States
September 14, 2009 3:10am CST
Many people have heard the name Taylor Swift--many people are big fans!!! Taylor seems like she has a really sweet demeanor, and not to mention she is a very talented singer! And she won a VMA award for the best female video for "You Belong To Me." I love this video and it is really cute! So I wouldn't argue with her winning an award for it. But...RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE OF HER ACCEPTANCE SPEECH Kanye West TOOK THE MICROPHONE OUT OF HER HANDS!!!! He just grabbed it from her!!!! And he went on to say how he thought Beyonce's video was the greatest video ever, and she should have won. There were some boo's from the audience at his RUDE interruption!! Then he handed the microphone back to her and just walked off, she was left there absolutely speechless... POOR TAYLOR!!! Her face showed all the shock and hurt and humiliation she was feeling. And she just had to stand there while she was humiliated by this jerk! And he wasn't even kicked out of the award show!!!

I saw this on the news this morning. Some people will do anything for attention whether it be negative or positive. I really believe this guy was doing just that so his name would come up over and over again. Beyonce is a great performer but West had no reason to do what he did. Shows his ignorance.

I really believe he wanted the focus on him and be the center of attention. If we dug deep enough there may be an underlying problem why he wanted the microphone. That's just not normal behavior! I thought Taylor Swift handled it very well.

Ugh...I have so many words I could say to him! lol Are he and Beyonce friends? If I were her I would be really upset with him!! Yes, Taylor Swift handled it like a champ! She is a very mature person.

I hope he feels like a comeplete @ss after Beyonce won the other award. I can't believe people would want such bad publicity! It couldn't possibly help their career!

I keep hearing that this is not the first time he's pulled something like this, but this is the first situation I've heard about! What else has he done at award shows?

I think Kanye West is bitter for not winning any awards and his action is very rude to cover his disappointment and his failure. Taylor Swift is deserving I like her songs I surprised that she is only 19 I thought she's like my age. He should not be respected for humiliating others for ruining the moment of others. Beyonce called Taylor Swift again so Taylor Swift could continue her speech.

I don't know who this guy thinks he is, but, he's a complete idiot. If he ever wants any respect, he should just do something crazy like win an award or something. I'm not a fan of his, and after this, I really can't stand him. He thinks he's someone important, when in actual fact he's a has been, and a no talent jerk. Beyonce is a class act, he put her in a terrible situation too. It was so nice of Beyonce to give her an opportunity later on to speak.

Yeah I don't really know who he is...I mean, all I know is he's a singer--that's it. Is he a rapper? I don't know! lol. But I really hope people start realizing how mean he is, and stop supporting him by buying his stuff.

I agree! That behavior was so not right. He deserved more than just the booing for doing such an unclassy act! Way to go to revive your dying career, such that you would bully a teenage pop star!

yeap.. totally agree !! if he had wanted to see only his 'desired' winners take the awards - he should come up with his own award show... totally rude guy!! but the thing is.. he did not only hurt taylor swift - i think his actions would affect beyonce.. real dumb guy !!

I understand what you mean mymak...if I was Beyonce I would be embarrassed too! I wouldn't want anyone getting hurt because of me, and I defeniatly wouldn't want 'a friend' to be the one to hurt them! If I was her I would stop seeing Kanye, he is obviously disrespectful of people.

Hello I honestly don't think this will happen, Kanye and Beyone are two totally different people if Beyonce lose fans behind this then they were never fans to begin with. How can she be blamed for his actions, not to mention she gave up her time to accept her award to Taylor, Kanye is a idiot, he stands alone. This is sad, but I don't see her being blamed for his actions.

Did you see Leno last night? Kanye was sincere in his apology. He was truly ashamed, especially after Jay asked him what his mother would have to say about the incedent. I think his apology was heartfelt.

I think Kanye has some issues he needs to work on. I saw somewhere that he's been off kilter since his mom passed. He needs to realize that everyone has personal opinions but self-restraint and respect for others help us use those opinions in a constructive, not destructive, way.

Hello tcup345 I asked my daughter what type of person was her before his mom passed she said he was always arrogant, I was never much of a fan not sure what it is he just scares me in a weird kind of way I don't know, but I love beyonce you mess with her you mess with me Thank you.

Hello I read this interview and I am sure he was ashamed and no doubt feel bad for what he did, I think he really crossed the line this time, I don't feel bad for him only because he has done this before, Kanye made a complete fool of himself and I think he realized that right after the words came out of his mouth he did not get one ounce of positive feed back I wonder who he was looking at when he said that it was someone in his view that shocked some sense into him you can tell I was thinking maybe Jay Z gave him some hand signal lol I could be wrong just wishful thinking. Thank you.

What I can't seem to understand is WHY some of the audience stood up clapping and cheering. WHAT ABOUT, Kanye's disrespect to a fellow artist or because she (Taylor) does deserve it and it was wrong of HIM??? LoL I couldn't figure it out, but since I think they were cheering HIM on for what he did, then thumbs down to them too!

good thing for what kanye west did, taylor definitely won the crowd. it could have been a different story if the girl was a real pain in the a$$ but hey, this girl is absolutely a beauty and also very talented in her own right. awww...im not her fan, but i like her. and now, i like her more.:)

cherr wasn't siding with Kanye raz...they just meant that it showed Taylor that people really love her, because the audience applauded her. It defeniatly backfired on Kanye, which I'm happy about. I love Taylors music, and especially the videos! They are all so great and adorable! lol.

While I must say that I have had less than zero respect for Kanye (and had therefore, wasted less than zero time thinking about him or his shenanigans), I have to say that after his appearance on Leno, his public apology to her, did gain a little ground with me (not that I matter or anything). I'm at a "wait and see" point at this time. I was surprised, in light of his past capers, to see that he appeared very sorry for his actions. Beyonce is a really classy dame who literally exudes talent. I think Taylor has the utmost amount of respect for her, not just as a music industry veteran, but as a fellow human being, especially after she ceded the floor when she won also. I saw Miss Swift on "The View" this morning, and I must say that Taylor is a very charming and elegant young lady. I've liked her music and her positive image as a role model for young folks. Her response was incredible. I have a great deal of respect for her. She couldn't have handled this better. If she were my daughter, I would not have been prouder. West was a HUGE jerk... yes. Miss Swift has taken the "High Road". I'm not sure I would have handled that nearly as well as she has.

I have recorded the Jay Leno show that Kanye was on, haven't watched it yet because I have tonights Jay Leno show on right now lol. But I just find it hard to believe that he is sincere about his apology...I can't believe he's sorry for it because he ALWAYS continues to do stupid stuff, and if he was sorry he'd stop! He couldn't have thought that interupting Taylor like that wouldn't have it's consequences. Taylor is a very good person! She is beautiful and she is very sweet. I wish I could meet her, I bet she'd be a fun person to hang out with and be a good friend! lol. Great music too!!! I love her songs and videos!

I think since his Mom's not in the picture anymore, that we MIGHT see a difference; you'll see why I think that once you see Leno. Trying to give the benefit of the doubt here, definitely, given his past ... narcissistic nonsense... it always reminded me of a three year old and a temper tantrum, and then some... It happens at the end of the show, but just before he performs. He asked Jay if he could come on and say something before the performance. It's good to hope that someone actually learns a lesson... and pays attention to it... That's my main hope for this man. He's too young to NOT learn. (I used to say, "That man'll never learn if he doesn't keep his mouth shut for JUST a few hours more before he screws his own credibility up... AGAIN"). I wonder if it's hit YouTube yet... both the Kanye/Leno and the Swift/TheView discussions.

I really agree with you. He is totally embarrassing Taylor's moment on stage. I really hate him for taking away the moment of Taylor Swift. It was a once in a lifetime moment of Taylor and he stole it away from her. Can you believe that man. I can't. He was being a jerk. I believe that he wanted Beyonce to win so badly that he did that to Taylor which I think is not right. It is so mean and rude. I know that Kanye wanted Beyonce to win because they are friend , but it is so rude to interfere someone's speech and talk about something else.

Yeah! She'll never get that moment back! Apparently after he left the stage Taylor couldn't finish her speech and she went back stage and cried! :( Poor Taylor!! Doesn't Kanye realize how many votes she would have had to get in order to win that award? She would have to have gotten 100% of the country music fan votes, and then some of the pop music fan votes! So obviously she deserved it!

Hello This was the peoples choice and this is who they wanted to win, I don't think Beyonce would care who won, this was Kanye being the ignorant person he always have been, its really sad, I wish I would have watched the show when I heard this I was like no this stupid etc etc etc didn't. I hope Taylor will get over this soon, Kanye is in a class by himself, Beyonce made his wrong right, at least she tried too.

i was a kanye west fan but after what he did to taylor swift, i lost respect for him. i know that he has the habit of doing whatever he wants and not thinking about the consequences, but come on, that's taylor swift! she's such a sweet and nice girl and she doesn't deserve to be humiliated like that. come on kanye, pick on someone your own size. i don't know why kanye likes to do things like this that damage his reputation. in all fairness to him, he is a great artist. he makes good music and he's one of the best performers out there. but all his stupid actions are ruining his name. people are starting to forget about his music because they're all focusing on his selfish, impolite and rude behavior. he may be a big shot artist, but sooner or later, he will lose all his fans and all he has to blame is himself and that huge ego of his.

Yeah, I don't understand why people think BAD publicity is still good! If I was rich and/or famous I wouldn't want any bad publicity whether it was true or false! And I won't be suprised if Kanye keeps doing stuff like this he'll lose most of his fans!

Hello alexaeluna I have never been a fan, but I respect anyone that deserves it, do you think this and all his other weird behavior has anything to do with the lost of his mother, or was he always this stupid? I am trying to remember but can't think for the life of me what kind of artist he was before he lost his mom.

even if kanye has already expressed his apologies to taylor, that does not erase the fact that he is immature. lol. i think he was pressured to make those apologies because even beyonce, kelly clarkson and katy perry were disgusted with his behavior at the VMAs.

I agree...he is a jerk. He should have never done that to her even if he did think Beyonce's video was better. That was very rude and she didn't even know what to say after that happened so she just walked off. But then when Beyonce won she called Taylor back up there and let her say her thank yous which I thought was very, very nice of Beyonce.

I saw that too and you know what - couldn't agree more. What a jerk this guy is. Not the first time he goes all whino on stage, seeking for attention and trying to start some sort of racial crusade. Really hate this idiot. Of course now that his ethnical group has somewhat more power around the US maybe this won't be seen as shocking as his first flip out of some years ago...

He is a jerk, really he is. I hate him now. That is being ungentlemen. He must be really a fan of Beyonce but that is not the appropriate way to do such things, Taylor had nothing to do with it, she doesn't know she will win that award in the first place. Why not tweet his complain. I don't like him now. He is very rude. I feel for Taylor.

I don't think the word "jerk" even begins to cover what he is. The best way to tell Kanye how we feel is simply to not buy any of his albums or other merchandise. Hitting his pocketbook is the best way to snap him back into reality--if he has any sense left to be snapped back into reality with, that is.

Hello I watched a few videos on youtube with people disgusted by his disrespect, I also heard Beyonce made it so Taylor was able to finish her speech when she was accepting her award, I did not watch the show but this is what I heard from youtubers, Kanye has issues i don't think I know any of his songs, he looks like something is wrong with him,Taylor on top of feeling bad may have been afraid as well, Kanye scares me, I would never want to meet him I think since he lost his mom his life has spiraled out of control, don't remember him being such a idiot when his mom was alive, never been much of a fan so I could be wrong. Thank you.

He can apologize as many times as he wants but I think people will see him for the ego-maniac that he is and lose all respect for him. How many times can he get away with this kind of stuff? Enough is enough. I'm very glad that celebrities like Pink, Katy Perry, and Kelly Clarkson are standing up against him and his behavior.

I agree olivemom...I don't think his apologies are sincere. If he was truely sorry he would just stop doing this crap! He thinks he can keep doing it because he thinks all he has to do is apoogize, he has a problem. And I know Taylor Swift is a very sweet person, but I really hope she doesn't say she forgives him.
