A letter to CNN

This is an email I sent to CNN today. I intend to send more like it to every news outlet that fails to report on stories that they don't want you to hear:
"Why is it that your last story on the ACORN scandal is dated Sept 10th? There have been two more videos released since then. You also neglected to cover all of the incidents leading to the Van Jones resignation. Do you believe you are responsibly exercising the great mission of a free press when you FAIL to inform? Information is what you are supposed to be disseminating to the public. Instead you are guilty of cover-up. It's deplorable."

That's a very good letter and a little less inflammatory than what I've been tempted to write. If all of us who see what they're doing (or not doing, rather) would write them every time, maybe we'd get their attention. Their reporting reminds me of the old Pravda, the state run news source of Socialist Russia. They only reported what they wanted the people to know and most of that was lies.

Yes, and Pravda means "truth" in Russian. All these media outlets contain the word "news" in their names and it is every bit a misnomer.
I wish everyone would check their sites every day and email every day. CNN asks you to check off "negative" or "positive" comment. Maybe they will count the negatives. Maybe they will delete them unread...

I would write these networks except for one reason: I don't want them to think I actually watch the garbage they put out.

Or they might just forward your email to flag@whitehouse.gov so you can be added to the enemies list.

It is downright shameful that they censor what we are allow to know news-wise. I am beginning to think the media is the president of the US not Obama, he is just a puppet to their demands, or they (the media) is just synophants to Obama. Which ever way you look at it..... it spells disaster for our country

I've sent similar emails to the major news outlets in the past and I think it's a very good idea to complain. When my local news covers a national story that the networks have completely ignored, that's censorship in my opinion and completely unacceptable.

It is censorship and everyone should complain. They seem not to realize that the public is smart enough to figure out that they are withholding information from us. We are intelligent enough to form our own opinions, but we have to have the facts to begin with.

I would love to hear what their response will be, if you even get one.

MSNBC is a bit more problematic as they only let you send email directly to their talking heads and not on news in general. They advise that if you have something to say, you should comment on the story on it. That's a little harder to do when there's no story. I thought perhaps I should send it in as a News Tip, they ask for those.

Oh Wow! I have just read the last story that MSNBC filed on ACORN. It's from September 11th, mentions the first video only at the very bottom of the article and starts out with this statement:
"The Census Bureau on Friday severed its ties with ACORN, a community organization that has been hit with Republican accusations of voter-registration fraud.
"We do not come to this decision lightly," Census director Robert Groves wrote in a letter to ACORN, which was obtained by The Associated Press.
In splitting with ACORN, Groves sought to tamp down GOP concerns and negative publicity that the partnership will taint the 2010 head count."
NOTHING about the criminal activities in three offices of ACORN, it's the fault of Republicans who are accusing ACORN of voter fraud. Actually, it's 14 separate states that are accusing ACORN of fraud. I have got to find a way to email them about this.
