I received a package in the mail today from a company that surveyed me over the phone about a month ago to test cigarettes and will pay me $25 upon completion of the test products. This is the first time I'm a participant in something like this. Yes, I do smoke. I use to demonstrate products in the store to the consumers and it paid more, but at least I can stay home and let the work come to me. I'm seen people at the shopping malls recruiting folks to come join their panels and the would pay people for their time, never done that ever.

I have once, though i wish i could get in on more of them. The one i got chosen for was for Kraft Miricle Whip. They sent me two full sized jars or miricle whip with generic "formula one" and "formula 2" labels, and instructions to open and use the first jar for one whole week, just as i would generally use miricle whip or mayonaise, then come on line after the first week, and fill out a quick 5 minute survey about its flavor, then he second week use the second jar, and do the same, with some added quesitons comparing the two. As far as i could tell, one of them (the second week) was regular miricle whip, the first week was a different blend, much sweeter, and i didn't like it. After the two weeks, upon completions of both surveys, they sent me a check for $15 dollars! Not bad for 20 minutes of time plus i got two free jars of a product i use out of it!
Wish i could get in on more of them, as i said earlier. I randomly got chosen for this one through one of the paid survey sites i frequent.

Hello Yparson
Yes I have had several at home Testing Products for pay and I really enjoy doing it I have tested air freshner, deordorant, popcorn, coffee, ceral ,ect.. so many different things a lot of these opportunities come from surve companies who do it on behalf of manufacturers who want have a feel for how the consumer would like or dislike a product they are about to launch before the spend the money on advertsising it they give it a sort of test run . Its a great idea for the consumer as well as the manufacturer.
The money is pretty decent too:-) I also like going to the focus groups where you spend about two hours with a small group of people discussing a new product concept I really like those I've participated in several of those as well its a great way to make some pretty nice pocket money
