Political Parties and Labor Unions....

It took me a long time to realize this, but political parties are nothing more than labor unions for politicians. Think about it. They are organizations that represent a "workers". They insist on absolute loyalty, even at the expense of those who pay the workers paychecks. They breed distrust between the employed and the employers. They create no goods or services, but leach off the people who do. They accept dues from people, supposedly in exchange for "protection", but in the end, they will protect the party first. They will lie, cheat, steal, and cover up the crimes of the represented, then blame the employer if caught. I really can't figure out the difference, can you?

There may be similarities between labor unions and the major political parties but I think your parallels are a little bit extreme. Are you suggesting that every Democratic and Republic representative toes the party line and never diverts from it? I can't agree with that. I also don't agree that all politicians breed distrust between themselves and those they represent or that they put the Party before their constituents. It's a very negative outlook that does not do justice to good guys who do more than leach off the people they represent.

I'm saying that, whether individual politicians actually toe they line or not, that is what they are expected to do by the parties. I'm not talking about politicians here, I'm talking about the party leaders.. they don't seem any different than union leaders to me.

Well, I agree with you about the party leaders. Unfortunately, they don't have the teeth union leaders have...but I'm pretty sick of them nonetheless.

The RNC and DNC don't have teeth? They decide who runs and who does!
