Would you consider this "bait & switch"?

So I go out of curiosity to a furniture store as hubby says our couch is dead the kids broke the springs. Well I'm looking around for the cheapest thing because I have a toddler to potty train + some kids that like to jump on furniture to my dismay. So why pay for expensive if it's only going to get destroyed. SO I find a couch similar to one we have not as fancy but it'll due. It was also the most inexpensive style they have. Well the color is CHERRY RED! My stuffed chair that will remain is hunter GREEN... picture it looking like Christmas in my living room. So I ask about another color especially to hide stains & spills. They say oh it's available in like 10 different colors.... BUT FOR $100 MORE for anything other than the Cherry Red color.
It didn't say on the tag, special on "cherry red" color....... nothing of the sort.
To me this is like bait and switch. If you think about it when you buy a car they don't charge you more for the red car as they do the white one. Or if you buy a shirt they don't charge you more for a different color.
It falls into the criteria to me.... what do you think?

Maybe, as someone else already suggested, they were having a problem getting rid of that cherry red one so it was being discounted...or the problem may have been that the store would have to order one in another color and there was an additional charge for that.

Sounds like you're right on that one. I would be complaining, after all it didn't say that on the tag. If the complaining about it not being on the tag didn't work, threaten to not ever come back and to tell all your friends and family the same...

it is,but i'm sure they'd call it an "accidental omission" if called on it.
i'd try to find another store if possible.

Haha, definitely sounds like they're trying to unload the ugly color! Does the store/company have a website? If they do they you should check it out and see what the costs are for ordering one in from a warehouse or whatever. You might luck out and find that you could get one in the color you want with no extra charge.
