New Mylot rule?

I have noticed that all discussions about other programs- such as MyPage5, PTCs etc, have been deleted. I posted something related to another site and was deleted. One of the reasons I like Mylot so much is that you can find out here what money making sites are legit and what ones aren't. Now it seems that is banned. Why not do away with the whole money making category then? This posts used to be left to stand. Obviously this is a new rule. I am very much against this rule, because I enjoyed that aspect of mylot that made the forum useful. Maybe if enough people complain they will change it.

I don't think the rule is against us talking about other sites as long as it's a discussion, not promotion. I myself have started discussions before when I have a question about a certain money making site or if I'm wondering if other people are having the same problem that I am on a site, etc. I NEVER start a discussion with the intentions of promoting myself or using a referral link, because that is definitely against the Mylot rules.

I had no intention of promoting the site, there was no referral link. All I said was "Site X paid me. It is therefore not a scam." I left no referral link or anything. I had no desire to get referrals. I was only trying to counteract some people who had said the site I got paid from was a scam.

Opalina, even though you had no intention of promoting the site (or asking for referrals), just saying that it's a reliable site and that you got paid would not make it a quality discussion. When you post a discussion, always think about what is going to encourage others to give responses of quality (or even to respond at all). A post that just gives information and doesn't specifically require people to give a descriptive answer is not likely to be a 'quality' discussion in MyLot's terms.

Opalina, that may be considered a violation in that it is considered a milestone discussion.

I think as long as you post in that section without adding links, asking people to go to your profile or pm for information it is ok. I enjoy that section too because I have found many good sites and stayed away from many scams because of it. Like it or not MANY people came here to make money,so the making money interest should be allowed as long as we all follow the rules.

I think it's always been a rule that we couldn't talk about other money making sites or how to make money from the internet? I could be worng but, I always thought we could only discuss as long as not promoting

You are so sensitive about change. Today and yesterday I found I had 4 posts deleted, but I did not know why and which ones. However I was just upset, but you found out the reason. I know we should follow the rules when we sign up mylot, but after 6 months here I still feel confused with these rules. I think I just have got a big picture what I can do or what I can not do, but for details I still need time to find out. If mylot can send me emails and tell me why they delete my posts I will very appreciate it.

I'm sure that Mylot deletes TONS Of posts each day. They'd never have the time to email each person and tell them why their post was deleted. That is why we as members must read the rules/guidelines and follow them the best that we can, to avoid these things.

hello there opalina143 as what is given in the FAQs and guidelines of mylot. it is a violation. we are not suppose to put on referrals links, other paying sites... but we are free to give our views and methoeds. and if you want to know about the site you can PM private message the person who is making such post. in that way you can reall talk how to do it! jhelai

I put no link or anything. I even said in the post that you didn't have to join. I just said "Site x paid me, it is not a scam." That is all- no referral link, no invitation, nothing. I like reading posts like that because it lets me know what sites are reputable. I have posted topics like that before and not been deleted, and I have seen discussions like that go on and not be deleted also

I think it is best to just put that info in your profile. I also think if you really want to talk about a certain site, that you can but just do a certain degree.

You have to be very careful of the wording. I noticed this a few weeks ago, when for the first time in 3 years I had a discussion removed. It was shocking. I went to check on it after about 90 minutes, and it had vanished. Like another responder said, it can be helpful tips and answering questions about how the site is ran, if scam or legit, or about how they pay and when. But it can't be a discussion to promote.

I know that it was something that was discussed a couple years ago in another post, and it is in the ToS and faqs that you are not to promote things on MyLot. As was said you can discuss them, have people message you for a link, and post your links in your profile. Sometimes if it's not blatant or a re-occuring thing it will get through. If it is reported by a member then it 'will' be deleted. I was wondering if I put something like www dot mylot dot com, would that go through since it doesn't show as a link?

I have never noticed it. Good thing that you have mentioned that. I also been using mylot as a gauge if a site is good or not. Because it is only from here where you can ask for advice if this site is worth joining or not.

I somehow agree with you on that. MyLot has been very useful to me since im into all of these money-making opportunities. But I guess we just have to accept their new rulings. It's their site anyway and maybe they feel like some members are abusing the system already by posting referral links. MyLot may not want this because people may be driven away from this site and convert to using those sites that members here promote. So as long as members are using mylot as a source of information and not as a referral source, I think we're good.
