I feel like total cr@p!! I have a stuffy nose, a terrible headache, fever, and achy body... hope it's not the flu!! Feeling like this doesn't help me accomplish the things I need to. My 2 youngest boys have destroyed my kitchen because I'm not paying enough attention to them, and I'm really far too tired to clean up their mess. I probably shouldn't be home alone with the kids today, but I can't ask hubby to come home, he'll lose hours which means we lose money. He did his best to let me sleep last night, and he got up with my son this morning to get him off to school. But I just can't function right now, and I keep snapping at my kids just because I can't handle a whole lot. What do you do to make it through the day when you feel cr@ppy and sick?

Sending you hugs. I hop-e that you get better soon. Are you taking the usual flu meds? You should really be in bed as you have a fever - will the children nap ? Says she hopefully, so you could lye down as well. This is when we need extended family - when we are sick. Get well soon.

I've not taken meds since last night. I took some cold pills and some Nyquil. I could take more cold pills, but they didn't help too much, and wore off real quick. I might once the older kids get home though, just so I can manage the hectic household.

Sorry you are not feeling well. I know trying to chase after one little kid when you are not feeling well is a feat in itself. I cannot imaging trying to keep an eye on 2 of them. When I am having a horrible day and I feel like crud I usually take a nap when my daughter does. It does not always work out though because she is at the point where she only naps a few times a week.

Both of these boys have pretty much given up on the idea of napping, and the littlest is only 20 months!! Usually I can only get them to fall asleep in the car, and I'm in no shape to drive anywhere today!

HI Kats: Sorry to hear you are feeling under the weather, there's a lot of that going around I'm afraid; I was the sickest I've been in my 48 years this past Labor Day Weekend, and its now the 14th and I still just have ZERO ENERGY...what little I do manage to do, just drains the life outta me; I"m struggling big time; I didn't have to worry about a husband or kids thankfully it was just me and my pets but I do feel for you, Hope you can last until your hubby gets home, hang in there and I pray you don't get the flu-nastiness that I had over Labor Day it was AWFUL!! please take care!

hello katsmeow. I'm sorry to hear that you are not feeling well today. In our place, it is very common nowadays since the weather is constantly changing. like today, it was so hot in the morning but when afternoon came, it rained hard. so, to make oneself protected, my advice is taking in some Vitamins C. to boost the immune system. Anyway, if I were in your situation, I would talk to my kids, to let me rest for a while. I would take some medicines before taking a nap. Hopefully after the nap, I would feel a little better. I would also let my kids understand what I am feeling, and they can make me feel well, if they will behave. Good luck and get well soon.

HEY DONT WORRY!!But i think you should seriously think about it and get it checked by the doctor because the symptoms are a bit closer to that of the flu, even i am suffering from a bad cough and headache thing that i dont have much cold thing and fever somedays before i was suffering badly from food poison but not yet totally alright as i am already not well im fearing that i might catch sickness again.I think even you should get it checked because they are somewhat the flu symptoms.

I pretty much just curl up on the couch and camp there till I start to feel better. I only move to feed or change the kids and then I go back and lay down. I also stay as heavily medicated as I can and still be able to take care of the kids. I've gotten pretty lucky with them being able to understand that mommy is sick so they go play or nap with me. Last year I got it pretty bad and my mom took the kids overnight for me so I could get some rest.

I had to call hubby home yesterday because I couldn't handle it. He almost stayed home again today too, but I told him I was allright enough to handle it today. My body isn't sore and my head doesn't hurt anymore. Today it's just my chest and throat that hurt.

i have had the same symptoms and went to my doctor and he said i have a sinusitis and i had to take a day off work today and have slept half of the day away! (i am fortunate that my kids are older and my hubby made their lunches for school today) but when they were little, we used to watch a lot of tv when i was sick. i laid on the couch and they played.

Hey kats~It hope that you don't have the flu too! You don't sound too great and you do sound like you have the flu! You need to rest, stay far away from the kids (like that is so possible)! It sucks to be a mommy when your sick and I'm not even a mommy but I do understand! You really need to rest and try to get better the best you can so you will be ok to take care of the kids, but not now! If you pass this on to the kids, you're really going to have your hands full so please get well, rest as much as you can possibly and let your hubby deal with the kids and let them take care of themselves as best as they can! Your oldest is old enough by now to help out! Let him! Feel better soon! Hugs, Opal

I always drink whiskey, which doctors tell you not to do. I find being slightly buzzed gets me through the day. But I can't recommend it because supposedly it's not good for you.

I know what you mean. It must be the weather as soon as it turn cold I feel miserable. The days have been really nice but the nights are so cold right now. My lower back hurts, my legs hurt and my throat hurts too.

Hi katsmeow1213, Sorry to hear you are in such a state. Have you any red tea at hand? because red tea is great for taking the misery out of your cold symptoms. Red tea is good for dry coughs, runny eyes and nose and dry sticky throat and also calms the nervous system down. If you take it with a bit of honey it will take most of the misery away. Not in minutes but in about one hour or so and it´s natural too. Red Tea is called Rooibos Tea also it´s good to have some handy to take the miserable feeling off almost right away. If not try some ordinary tea but not too hot or strong with a dash of Honey. Hope you get better soon.

Thanks for the advice. Too bad I don't normally drink tea, so I don't have any in the house. I'll keep it in mind for next time though.

Hi katsmeow, We are tea drinkers and coffee drinkers I came across this remedy as I call it just by chance as I have a bit of allergy to dust. Not being a great fan of herbal infusions either I tried it and it worked although I usually stock it and take it only once in a while. Also Cranberry Tea Infusion with Rooibos included with it is another great infusion this is made by Hornimans here I don´t know what you would call it there. You can get these at the Supermarket any day I mean to say if I can get them here in Spain. Before it was very difficult to get even ordinary tea. Cranberry tea stops the fits of useless coughing only in adults though and grown up children. It´s nice and fruity and a great comforter.

Hi katsmeow1213 I feel the same way you do and I went to the doctor today and she said I had a really bad case of sinusitis. You should go to the doctor just to check it out and be on the safe side so you want get any worser. Feeling like that can put someone in a crappy mood and not being able to do anything. Try drinking some herbal tea and see if that help. I hope you feel better.

That is horrible. It's hard enough that you're sick, you need to handle not one but two boys. One is enough to wreck the entire house, two will be a disaster (I know since we already have one active boy in this house) Whenever I become sick, I will try myself to seclude and rest. I don't want to be bother as I tend to snap easily. I can't become a monster at that time. I hope you will feel better soon. And I don't think it's the flu too.

I have been in your situation before! What I do is drink lots of tea! Some aspirins! Chicken soup! A warm bath! And you should feel better by then! I hope that you feel better soon! Being sick is never fun! Take care!
