Big surprise for all the sheeple who thought he would bring that unconstitutional garbage to a close. What's at the top of his list? He wants to EXTEND the warrantless wiretaps that he PROMISED to filibuster as a senator yet voted for, then PROMISED to end as president. http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2009/sep/16/obama-seeks-patriot-act-extensions/ http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/promises/promise/180/end-warrantless-wiretaps/ How does this make you on the left feel? How does it make ANYONE here that opposed the Patriot Act feel? Based on his record I already knew he was full ofo $hit. He wants a massive government power grab and he's certainly not going to undue Bush's big government. That would be counterproductive to his real agenda. Oh, and yes I am submitting this to Politifact to add it as another broken promise. Sadly they haven't been too willing to admit the broken promises I've proven to them so far only making some into "compromises". That doesn't surprise me too much since they are run by the St. Pete Times, a very liberal newspaper.

OH! OH ! OH! WHO WAS RIGHT? WHO WAS RIGHT???!!! The house had a bill that stopped certain parts of it from sunsetting, I never followed up on how far it got. But from the sounds of this, it isn't going any time soon. WTF people, [b] WAKE THE FACK UP. [b] What is going to take people, honestly what has to happen for those still dedicated to realize exactly what is going on in our government? We don't have a two party system, you can't have a two party system if you have two identical parties, that isn't a two party system, thats two parties with two factions running a one party totalitarianist system.

thats ONE PARTY with two factions running one totalitarianist system. That the truest statement I have seen posted on this site in a long long time. We need to wake up as a population NOW. Not tomorrow. But today. We should have woke up this fact years ago. But if we don't do something soon it will be too late.

Hey, I gave you props. Look where I mentioned you in my response to Opinionated Lady. You totally called it. I don't know why more people couldn't see this coming. I'm still hoping to hear his supporters try and explain this away as anything but him being the same as Bush.

Wow. And Obama PROMISED several times on the campaign trail that he would repeal the patriot act completely because it was "un constitutional". He was all over Bush for the patriot act. It was one of the few times I agreed with Obama. I know this was going to happen. I knew he was lying when he said it. So not only is NOT going to repeal it, but he is going to take it a step further. What is his so called justification on this? Not that he can really justify this. IS ANYONE GOING TO CALL HIM OUT ON THIS? I mean really. People from all sides were screaming about the partriot act. THe left used it against hte right in the last election. So are people on both sides going to stnad up and tell them NO on this one? Are the people of this country going to stand for this? This should be a no brainer for ALL american citizens. THis should be an easy issue for all us to get stand together and stop. If we can't all come together over this than what will we all ever agree on? I won't sit back and let my rights be further eroded. I won't sit back and let htis country slid further into a police state. How about you?

I knew this would happen as well. So did many others who weren't blinded by his lies. He already broke his promise to filibuster it as a senator so I had no doubt he would extend it as president. He wants big government and the Patriot Act and bailout were gifts to him in that he got to blame Bush for them while pretending to oppose them. Of course he voted for the bailout and voted for the warrantless wiretaps, but he still blames Bush for them routinely.

So do you think the general public will wake up at least long enough for this one bill and do something? Everyone hated Bush for the patriot act......so will they do the same now? Or are they sheep and think Obama can do no wrong. Even if he is repeating all the same mistakes Bush made?

Where are all the Obamabots? This is yet another example of Obama breaking a campaign promise... and Prs. Obama contradicting Sen. Obama.

Just as Bush was an extension of Clinton's Administration, Comrade 0bama is an extension of the Bush Administration, with the exception of taxes and protecting our national security.

Now my questions are A)does this mean the Patriot Act was actually a good and fair act that was demonized by the people because it was done by Bush, B) is this just more proof that Obama just says what people want to hear then does his own thing or C)both of the above?

Obama used pretty words to make his agenda sound good to people and now they are seeing him for what he is. The surprise is humorous actually. At least for those of us who saw it coming since day one. Now the question is what will Americans do to change it. Complain and moan like they did with Bush or get out there and contact their congressmen and state reps. If no one speaks up in the appropriate fashion it is just a bunch of B*&ching and nothing will ever change.
