Since when have deficits mattered?

Recently Republicans have been focusing on the national debt, and deficits. Now, history has shown us that this is a complete Flip-Flop for republicans who, for the past 30 years, have set records for high deficits and national debt during the Reagan, and Bush Jr. years. During the last 8 years, the Bush administration spent like drunken sailors, and when quetioned on this members of the administration said: "'Reagan proved deficits don't matter", and "We won the (2002) midterms. This is our due." After all, this is the party that cared so much about deficits that they fought to get rid of PayGo. So can anyone explain why anyone would believe these guys?

Yes, both the Republicans and the Democrats have proven beyond a doubt that neither care about deficits or debt. Both have had control of each house of Congress and the White House and they both wasted money beyond reason. They both promised audits and investigations, but never delivered. They both knowingly allowed fraud and waste to run rampant and unchecked.
On the other hand, neither Congressional Democrats or Republicans have worked for the causes the parties claim to care about.
They're both a waste.

Why did Reagan have to fix the last "worst economy since the depression" after that complete moron Carter play acted at president in the late 70s?

True Ted, but Clinton had to clean up the mess left by Reagan, and now Obama has to clean up the mess that Bush left. Do you see a pattern here?

I do agree with what you are saying Ted. But, why do democrats always have to fix the economy when republicans screw it up?
