Hi Mylotters
My cat Jinx is very special to us we think of him as part of the family he goes through stages where he likes to sleep in different beds in the house when we first got him he liked sleeping on my son's bed ,then he moved to my daughters bed and now mine. He'll sometimes wait outside my bedroom door if its closed and as soon as I open it he dashes in and crawls under my bed and he can stay there for hours sleeping or whatever else he does under there LOL he also likes to take his naps on my bed but we only let him sleep on the bottom of the bed and only on a blanket he is a very clean cat and he is also an indoor cat but we don't want him on the sheets he has this thing where he likes to sleep in only two spots on our bed on my husbands side of the bed and in the middle of our bed towards the bottom. So we put his little bet blanket on the bed and he likes that so he sleeps on that thank goodness.
I think in the beginning when we first got him he was going from bed to bed in order to get to know us all an.
He also likes to sleep on the sofa,in the dining room chair and in the window ledge.

Hi cherry41,
Sounds like he is very much at home where he is this Mr. Jinx I still love that name it evokes the memory of Pixie and Dixie. However I once saw a cat it was a bit wild but he used to sleep on the window ledge on the outside part no less than four floors up. Granted he only stretched himself out there when there was some nice warm Sunshine to bask in. How he never fell off I don´t know even if you called him he would´nt budge just kept snoozing.

Hi Lovingangelinstead
Thats who I named Jinx after the Pixie and Dixie character from Hanna /Barbara
I used to watch that cartoon all the time! It was and is still one of my favorites and yes he just makes himself at home wherever he chooses

Well I do have two separate kitty beds one for each of my cats and they do seem to know which one is THEIRS and theirs alone. But for the most part my cats like to snooze on my bed...they even sleep with me when I go to bed and remain keeping me company all the while until I get up. They too love to snooze on the sofa as well...uh, lets put it this way..they sleep wherever they want which is so typical of cats, right?..LOL

Hi Pyewacket
You got that right they sleep wherever they please actually it seems as though they own us instead of the other way around. My cat Butch used to sleep right on top of my head when I was about 12 we got him as a stray I would wake up and find him right on top of my head lying on me and the pillow LOL

Our cats do like to sometimes sleep on the bed but don't like it when we move around. They like to sleep where there isn't so much moving around. They mostly end up sleeping in chairs around the house. I find myself putting towels down on different chairs in different rooms just to make the chairs more cuddly.
Recently I took a smaller-sized outdoor plastic chair and put a bed pillow on the seat. I then drape a beach towel over the pillow and place the chair next to my side of the bed. The kitty gets to sleep near me but doesn't get disturbed from my tossing and turning in my sleep. It works out for all of us. I love it.

My cats like to sleep everywhere. We have one cat that sneaks into my bedroom and likes to lay on my bed like she is the queen of the manor. As for our other cats they will curl up on any piece of living room furniture like they own it.

I have had a number of family cats, and they have all enjoyed sleeping on the boiler, or on the hot pipes on the floor. However this year I got two cats of my own and they sleep in the most peculiar places! Sometimes they will curl up with me on my bed, which I adore! They keep me so warm! But other times they sleep on the floor in the middle of the room, or staring into a corner. One of them, the youngest, likes to sleep in the washing basket too! It's quite peculiar!

My cat Papa wants to change her sleeping places every other day. In fact it is our routine to ask each other where papa slept today. When it was small it used to sleep in my husband's bed. Then on the cupboard, under the cots, on my daughter's or my bed. One day we could not find her anywhere and got worried. Since the door was locked no chance it has gone out. After all of us searching under the cupboard and all sorts of places, we found her cuddled up in a wash basin upstairs. We put beds everywhere but she selects some corner under dining table and sleeps. Another day a air bag was open, which I took out of station and she was sleeping inside that bag under my clothes. Funny creatures these cats are, is not it? But she is our bundle of joy.

depends on the cat - Scamp likes to sleep with me or near me, or even on top of me. Some cats like to sleep on the foot of my bed, or on top of furniture (the taller the better) or actually on a CAT tree or even outside on the porch, but between 6-8 of them have to go where ever I go when I come out of the "cat-free" zones of the house and they will follow me around.
and considering that my roomie's bed is actually bigger than mine, the don't sleep with her, tho if she's not in her bed, they will sleep on it

my cat would just sleep anywhere outside the door. if they see rag or any thing warm , they would sleep there. but the thing is they make the place smell bad. but anyways, since i like pets i can bear the smell i will just clean the place in the morning to get rid of the smell. maybe they pee on that area too that is why. i love seeing cats sleeping they are so adorable and cute to at when they are sleeping.. sometimes they will sleep inside my shoe as kitten are so small cause i leave my shoes in front of the door most often. we don't use shoe cabinet actually . they are just in front of the first step of the stairs.
