I just want to know if my fellow Filipino mylotters buy local biscuits and delicacies. Local meaning the traditional biscuits such as Otap and Rosquillos, or other biscuits that are distinctly Pinoy. Whenever I do my grocery shopping, I will always grab a pack of Rosquillos, pacencia and toasted mamon. How about you?

We were able to stay in Laguna for a year when I was a child and one of my fond memories of Laguna is their pastillas and puto seko. I am not too fond of buko pie, but barquillos always tops my list of yummy treats from the province next to rosquillos. Thank you for your response!

i love homemade filipino biscuits and delicacies. I always have it everytime i go to store. Here in davao one of our delicacies here is Durian candy which i always have in our home. We should love our very own product than imported ones.

Yep, that is true. We should always patronize our local products, especially those made by small stores or factories. In this way we can help them keep their businesses, at the same time enjoying their yummy delicacies. Thank you for your response!

Yep, my wife loves them so much that's why we always buy them. I'm not familiar with their names but everytime we go out of town we make it a point to stop by local stores to buy biscuits and delicacies. Of course, fruits would be included in the "pasalubong" list.

Fita and skyflakes. I used to stock on those too but since my mother who has cancer requested for me to look for certain biscuits, I had to shift to more local kinds. In a way I feel that I am helping small business owners/bakers who make these Pinoy delicacies. Thank you for your response!

i am from the place where otap and rosquillos are in abundance! we find lots of them in grocery stores and supermarkets, including all other delicacies from the neighboring provinces. i still buy otap and rosquillos when i feel like eating and take them directly at their stores for lesser costs. for the other delicacies from the neighboring province of Iloilo (the piyaya), they are sold in "pasalubong" centers and in the grocery stores. there are a lot of other Cebuano delicacies here. make Cebu ur next stop, enjoy the island's hospitality and bring home distinctly Cebuano products at lesser price!.

Well, with Fita they are similar to an imported brand in shape and texture. Marie, how I hated those biscuits as a kid because they would dissolve when I tried dunking them in milk :P. Thank you for your response!

my siblings and i love to experiment with local foods. whatever it is. it can be unknown local brand of chips, biscuits, cookies, or other snack. we've done this over the years since we were young and i have to say Otap hasn't changed. although, we dont eat that much anymore, we still like it. we've always buy the snacks that we like until such time we get burn out of it. seasonal taste, you may say. like oishi pillows, polvoron, piattos, captain sid, cornbits, chicharon (kropek), etc. etc. etc.

Hi, I also buy local delicacies as paslubong whenever I go to other places. So whenever I'm in cebu I always buy rosquillos and otap and rice crispies or "ampao" Then when I went to bacolod or iloilo I buy biscocho, piaya and toasted muffins. Then peanut kisses from bohol. I've also brought some buko pie from laguna but had to eat it than bringing it home because it will be stale after two days. Now there's a stall here that sells these buko pie and they're delicious. Bicol is famous for pili nut delicacies.

Hi anne. Oh yes! I have one here at home. My sister bought me this specialty from laguna and it is one of my favorite delicacies... "buko pie" (coconut pie). I do buy some local biscuits and other filipino delicacies whenever I do shopping. I'm just near Market Market, Global City..they have varieties of pinoy delicacies of different provinces and town. They have stalls there where you can choose what native foods of certain province you want to buy, and I often choose batangas and laguna. You have to try to visit that place, you may find your favorite delicacies. :)

Ah, buko pie! Did you know that Nueva Ecija's buko pie can compete with Laguna's buko pie? I haven't shopped at Market Market yet since it is quite far from where I live, but someday I might check it out. Just for the local delicacies! I heard that they do sell provincial goodies there. I might need to get some for my Christmas list for relatives abroad. Thank you for your response!
