wind mills in the ocean

They say Europe is investing $57B to put more windmills to target 20% of Europe electricity needs by 2020. The issue it seems is that it is more expensive compared to traditional ways and the big problem of delivering(cheaply) the power from the ocean into the grid. Any comments?

wind mills are more expensive but they don't cause any problem to our environment, so they are better than traditional way of power generation.

thanks for the comment Vinocitd. I guess unlike solar power, the wind is a more efficient investment... What do you think?

Green energy has become the next focus for the world. The developed countries led by the US are heading for it with full efforts, and the developing countries are starting to follow. Recently listed companies involved in windmill facilities have attracted great attention, though their profitability is still in question. To encourage their endeavors, the government seems favorable in providing supportive policies. In addition to the ocean beaches, in our country, areas with deserts are also planning to join.

thanks for the ideas Zhuhuifen. Perhaps future advances in technology for photovoltaic solar power generation would also make solar power a viable alternative to wind mills... What do you think?
