Retaliation on Chinese tire tariff

Recently, our president Obama just claim to raise tariff on Chinese tires on the press conference. This act might trigger the same result on China side to raise tariff on U.S. made products that will export to China. Would that be a smart move for our president to do so? We might face expensive tires in the market once that trade war begin. Personally, we don't think that is a wise move, since we still China $1 trillion in debt. It won't be the right time to start a trade war like this. Free trade market still is the key to our market economy.

It is not to punish China but to pay back the Unions for their support. In every peice of legislation he has put forth the Unions get more and more of our money. Union Bosses support him and he is paying them back.

Well, but what he did right now, it is not a smart move. Isn't he afraid of China retaliate on other American - made products which might export to China, they also impose a tariff on it? Free trade market is the best right now, he just add the oil to the fire right now.
