As Wide as I am Tall?!

OMG, I cant believe it! The lovely people at the TV station, where I am to appear in a TV show, have bought me some clothes but wanted to know my waist measurement, and honest Im not overweight, but I am nearing 50 and things tend to spread at this age.
So I measured my waist for these apparently "lovely" trousers she has got me and I had to laugh - I thought I would be about a 28 inch (71cm) but when I measured (and I did this twice coz I couldnt believe it) - I measured 3 foot. That is more that half of my height!!
Is this normal? What shocks, regarding your body, have you experienced recently?

Hey Ritz! I never thought about measuring my waist like that!
I guess if you put it like that and turn it into feet then
maybe I might also be close to three feet too! How weird is
that! I had never thought about the waist measurement in
that way either! It it is in the 30 inch range then it is
in the 3 feet range and I'm afraid that's where I am too!
Now I'm really upset! I'd better get to working out really
quickly!

I am sure you would look lovey with whatever you have on but nope I ain't standing on no scale or measure myself, don't like no shocks!!! but I do eat sensibly and still gets into my jeans, that is enough for me, lol!

I never really thought of it that way. My Dad has a fluctuating waste line and I think somewhere in those figures he has also had a waste line like that. I just didnt realize that it is how you described it.LOL
Well, yeah, I think that really could be normal. As long as your width isnt really exactly the size of your height or even go beyond it, then I think you would be fine. Perhaps the weight distribution on your body just centered around the mid area, when others would have most of their weight either on their upper bodies or their lower bodies.
That'st just what I think anyway.^_^
