Tonight I change my bedsheet again. I have a habit to change my bedsheet once a week. Some of you might think that I am doing it too often. But I just can't sleep on smelly bedsheet. I like to lie down on a comfortable bedsheet with a nice smell. Especially for the pillow case. I just feel uncomfortable with the sweat smell. I am a sweating person, sometimes my head will sweat if I sleep at night.Although my bedroom is fully aircon, but I did not set it too high as my son is sleeping on a mattress on the floor, I don't want him to get cold. Share with me how often you change your bedsheet?? Thank you!!

shia.. I think I can understand what you mean.. since I have also known someone that can't really sleep on sweat smelly bedsheets and pillow case.. For me, since I am not a heavy sweat person, before I had my child, I will get my part time maid to change my bedsheets every month.. and alternate it with the others.. After now, since I got a child, I am kind of more hardworking in changing sheets, and I get the maid to change them every 2 weeks.. sometimes, she can even tell me that she has just changed not long ago.. and I will give her a piece of my mind, in order to ensure she knows I got a baby now.. now, at times that she understand it, she automatically change my sheets every 2 weeks, or sometimes, I just leave the new sheets on the bed, and she understand what I mean.. I have a total 3 sets to alternate, how about you?

Hi Cwong, I think most mummy will be more hardworking in changing bedsheet after they have kids. We want the best for our kids. So everything we want to be in clean and safety position. So far, I have 4 sets of bedsheet standby in my cabinet. For daily use, they are 3 sets which have been with me for so long, since I was in Singapore. I guess that 3 sets of bedsheet have been with me for more than 6 years and they are still good in condition, the colour is getting fade only. For special occasion like during Chinese New year or New Year, I will get a new set of bedsheet. As it is a happy occasion, I want new start also for my bed with a new bedsheet. When I married to my husband, I make quite a number of bedsheet sets.About 10 sets in total. So far, I only use 1 set from it. So I still have 9 new set of bedsheet in my store room.

Hi Cwong,Oh...I wish I can be that talented to sew my own bedsheet.Too bad I am not. I ordered my bedsheet from curtain/bedsheet maker at my hometown. The whole street has plenty of shops doing curtain/bedsheets. We can choose whatever kind of fabric that we want and what kind of design we like. For my wedding day bedsheet,I also custom made from my hometown.I seldom use it as it has to be dry-clean due to the soft fabric for the bed comforter. So now I never use comforter for my bed. I just use normal blanket, easier to wash. Just dump into washing machine and let it dry outside.

I changed it once a week too. Same with u. If longer than that, I feel one kind. Now my son in college told me that he changed it once every 2 or 3 months!! MONTHS! My goodness, I said I wouldnt want to sleep on it.. needs a lot of detergent to keep it free from virus!

Hi reanaclaire, We have the same habit, change bedsheet every once a week. Oh my god, your son changed bedsheet once very 2-3 months. That is too long. I can't stand the smell of the bedsheet that has been using for long. I need a fresh bedsheet every week. Apart from using detergent, I also add some fabric softener while washing my bedsheet. I just dump all into the washing machine and once it is ready, just hang it out at night.

You know boys, some of them dont care less. They are away in college so they used to say it is troublesome to wash or send to the dobi but I think my son is plain lazy.. lol... But after scolding him few times, nowadays he either take it home with him or send to the dobi.

once in a week or once in ten days,I change my bed sheet. If the colour of the bed sheet is dark then more than ten days also may be possible. And if the colour is light enough then a week is enough to change it.

Hi Coolcat, I can conclude that you change your bedsheet based on the colour of your bedsheet. Am I right? For me, No matter whatever is my bedsheet, I need to change it every week unless I am away for holiday. Then by time I back from my holiday, I will change my bedsheet before I go for sleep. It goes to my son's bedsheet too.I change his one frequently. As kid has more sensitive skin, I change my son's bedsheet 2 times per week.It applies for his pillow and bolster case too.

Well, I also have this habit to change my bed-sheet at least once in a week.Whether it gets dirty or not, I don't like to used it for more than a week.I don't sweat a lot nor my bedsheets get dirty soon but its just that I like to sleep in a clean already washed bed sheet, and a pillow

Hello Shia, For me bed sheet is important, especially we sleep together with the kids. I get my part time maid to change the bed sheet for me once in a week. Just imagine we sleep the whole night on the bed and I could not resist the bed sheet not changed for more than 1 week. It will get dirty fast if the bed sheet is light in color. More ever my kids like to stand and walk and jump on the bedsheet. So it is better to change it as often as I can. About the bed sheet, I have about 6 at home. But not all the bed sheet I have there is my liking. I just use 3 of them. These 3 bed sheet is my preloved! We have air conditioner at the bed room too. Living in tropical country is just make us can't sleep with no air conditioner. I on the air conditioner every night. But I have to make sure my kids wear enough clothing to keep them warm. For myself, I wear a jacket to sleep every night.

hi shia, Yeah, We need to FORCE the kids to wash their legs before stepping on the bed. What brand of bed sheet you prefer to buy? For me I like Akemi brand and Aussino brand. I normally will ask my part time maid to change the bed sheet for me because I am kinda lazy to change it myself, ! For air conditioning in the bed room, I set it at 26-27 degree. I don't need a chill room as we on the air conditioner the whole night. I wear a cotton long sleeve jacket but it is not the thick material, don't worry, !

Hi Vingyan, You are so good.Got part-time maid to help you change your bedsheet. All the while,I am doing it myself. Sometimes,my husband will help me up when he is free at night. It seem we have a same habit to change our bedsheet once a week. Nowadays,my boy also like to jump on the bed,I always make sure he washed his legs before stepping to the bedroom. But then, to make sure it is clean, change quite often is better. Normally I will on my bedroom aircon around 10pm,put in on Low Mode 22'c,and I always let my boy wear long sleeve pyjama with long pant. Also have to cover blanket,to keep him warm all night. Oh,u wear jacket at night?? Won't it be too hot?? So you never put on a blanket,I guess?? I don't like to wear tight pyjama for my sleep. I will go for something casual and light like silk pyjama or shortpant with t-shirt. It feels more comfortable and cover myself with a blanket.
