Well friends, I am planning to buy a operating system. I am prefering Microsoft for this but confused to buy which OS Windows Xp or Windows Vista or Windows 7. Presently I was using Windows Xp and I am happy with it. But as it is becoming old planning to buy a new OS. what in your opinion is right for me. I play pc games and I am worried that Windows Vista will not give good support for those games. help me..

I suggest you to opt for windows XP with the latest service pack. As if you take vista or win 7 then there will a change in the software applications and also as you mentioned you wish to play games. This is what i feel.

But Microsoft has stopped selling Windows Xp Pro and even support will be stopped after few months of time. Then what is the point in me buying Windows Xp when it becomes outdated. I have to spend some Rs.5000 odd to get this OS..

OEM version of Vista allows you to downgrade your OS from Vista to XP and upgrade from Vista to Windows 7.. so first you confirm from vendors if they can provide you free upgrade or downgrade facility you can switch among any OS.. Good Luck..

well friend, this facility is given if one buys Laptop. But this downgrading or upgrading business is not given if one buys Microsoft OS cd from stores for Assembled PC. My PC is assembled one and I have to buy only cd and no one is giving upgrading or downgrading facility.. Thanks for your advise anyhow..

This is a tough question. I have a computer with xp and one with vista. I like them both and both of them are different when it comes to gaming. I mean there are a lot of games that are not supported by vista yet, but they are coming around pretty fast I think.
