Why are men considered to be better chefs than women?

Its true that most hotels in the world have men running the kitchen than women. Is it because of their culniary expertize or simply because women hate to do the kitchen? This makes me wonder whether men are indeed better than women as chefs.

Amy, you may be right in your assessment, but in most top-nothch hotels, I have seen and read only about male chefs, and not women. That is why I stated that male chefs seem to be dominating the hotel industry today.

Hi suchi60, I agree, men in general are better chefs. I mean it's pretty obvious if you look around on every restaurant you dine in. Men usually take the spot of being the head chef or something. A bit ironic, since usually women are the ones often tagged to be the master in the kitchen. But if course, I'm saying this in general. Usually women don't hate the kitchen, I guess it's because traditionally, the task in the kitchen was often assigned to women and taking care of the family. But whose the better chef, well to be honest, I really don't know. It's hard to tell. All I know is that a lot of chefs are men. But that is not enough proof to state that men are better cooks than women.

It is true all over good hotel and restaurants, men are mainly seen as chefs. i won't say women are not fit for job, but they do not come in large number in this profession. May be they are not very comfortable in working in kitchen.
