Our star ranking on myLot is not determined by the admin, but is determined by myLot users who read and rate your discussions and/or responses. You can see that for every discussion and response on myLot, there is a "+" and "-" sign on the bottom right of it. Hence, myLot users who use this rating system to rate your discussions or responses will determine your ranking. The more people rate you with a "+", the higher your star ranking will be (maximum of 10) and the same applies vice versa. There has been a bit of controversy on the rating system too because the presence of "trolls" (people who cause trouble) who simply rate "-" for other users whom they don't like, causing the other person to suffer on the rating scale. Well, there are pros and cons to everything I presume.......

What the first poster said is true. The star is your reputation in MyLot, depending on the votes on your responses and discussions by MyLotters. It will show up after your 100th posts. If you make good posts, you'll be in a high rank and so is otherwise. It doesn't effect your earnings.
