Domestic Terrorism is here!

Alan Autry, former mayor of Fresno, CA., has compared the shutting off of the water supply to the San Juaquin Valley to domestic terrorism. As a member of the domestic terrorism unit in the early 2000’s, he cites that compromising the water supply was high on the list of probable scenarios that could be possible. Now it has happened! Our government is denying the most fertile area of the United States the water that feeds our nation and many others, all because of a two inch minnow that is being sucked into the pumps that direct the water. This action denies farmers the use of their land, puts people out of work and seriously compromises our independence as food producers. Does this not prove to everyone that our government is turning against our nation? It is destroying the breadbasket of the nation that supplies our food and a lot of the world’s food. Governor Schwartzenegger has gone through all the proper channels to get the water back, to no avail. Farmers are losing their livelihood, workers are losing their jobs. People who used to make a decent living are lining up at food banks at 5am in hopes of getting food—the food banks often run out so people need a place near the front of the line. The San Juaquin Valley used to produce strawberries, tomatoes, artichokes, almonds, peaches, apples, beans, peanuts, and other essential food. So now we will be getting these foods from China and other countries. Hello? Remember the baby formula scandal, the children’s toys scandal? You like paying foreign oil prices? Well, wait till you deal with foreign food prices! Don’t email your representatives—they have people that hit the delete button all day. Tie up the phone lines!!! Call your rep, call your senator, tell them you won’t put up with this abomination! Saving a species is one thing and a very noble project but sacrificing our people is quite another. Anyone agree? Disagree? I'd be interested in opinions from those that agree with this action to (supposedly) protect the Delta Smelt. It could easily be bred and thrive in other places.

Ha! You'd think there'd be enough smelt that the ones in CA wouldn't matter. What's your winter forecast there? We've had such a cool summer here in Ohio that I think the winter is going to be really cold.

Dear friend You are a very good writer. You comment can not decline. But there have some solution which you all people can approach to your government. The problem must be solved. What do you say. I am an Indian. But I can understand your problem. Same type of problem we faced here.

We speak to our government through our representatives. And our representatives are not listening to us! There is a movement underway now, a protest of things as they are going now. Nearly 2 million people gathered in our capitol on September 12, although the news reported only thousands (the pictures deny that low figure) to protest the way things are going. We'll see how it goes. We have to take our country back from corrupted politicians.
