aha! i get to voice my opinon in something i love so dearly and rarely get to do it, ive posted a pic of a bowl that i made on the lathe about a year ago, i gave that away to someone very special, so i dont have a finished product photo. that pic was taken shortly after i gave it it's first coat of laquer (hence the ultra high shine) i have made many things over my life from woodworking and will continue to make more, the woodworking symbol (the baseball bat is also something that i made too! i gave it to my kid who prefered to use it to hammer in cricket posts into the ground with it! kids...
this is a must in my life, its a huge passion and i can spend a whole day in the shed creating and sculpting, theres a huge level of satisfaction when i complete something and it warms me inside immensly.
how about you? whats your favorite and why?

Well, nice work fezman. I myself have some experience of working on the lathe, as am an engineering student and we had it in our workshops. As for the hobby part, I am quite confused right now. I really can't think of something that is my hobby, well I do love to cook and eat, but then I can do without that. Earlier my hobby used to be football, my favorite sport, but now I barely get any chance to play. Also now I am stuck in so much of work and responsibilities that I barely get time to think about things I love. Also the more I think of them the sadder I am as I know that I won't get much time for them.
but sure I got an idea reading your post, that is, may be this coming weekend I will try and take leave from my work and get back to my present liking and may be I will find a good new hobby.

Well ya, I might like to get some recipes some time soon, as my girlfriend's gonna visit soon and she loves my cooking. Also I am almost 82kgs my self. LOLZ...

and i do love to cook and eat myself, i actually love to eat a bit to much recently and im gunna have to put myself on a diet!
im bobbing around 95kg atm, and i should be around 78-83! oh well you get that dont you!

Hello fezman, I like your hobby.and really good topic :)
well my all time favourite hobby will be surfing online because for that i dont need too many things to carry i can be here anytime and i can sit here long hours and even forget what i was getting bored of.I have many things to do here and not just one book to read or one painting to be done but i can do anything, and any number of times.

you know what? i completly stuffed up and didnt post my pic of that bowl! ill try again, and your surfing the net is also my surfing cause im starting to get addicted to this site, i have doubled my typeing rate, learnt more and met some interesting friends just in a week! thanks for commenting, and happy mylotting

Beautiful bowl fezman. My favorite hobbie is fast becoming a mylotter but before I became addicted to this place, my favorite hobbie was crocheting. I used to crochet gifts for friends and family because of the personal touch it gives. I recently crocheted a doll for my mother-in-law's birthday that was the first time I tried to do it in twenty years. It turned out well. I didn't know you could put pictures in the discussion or comment section. Maybe I will try it.

Glad to see someone else on Mylot who enjoys working with wood. Nice bowl by the way. I like turning wood as well and wish I could make a part time business out of it. Have sold some but really have had a lot of bad luck getting that going. I know this was posted three years ago. Hope you're still around.
